1. PLANNING INFORMATION

A. Purpose
This Customer Service Notice (CSN) provides instructions to modify the ramp control panel
to prevent chafing of the ramp control panel’s internal wire harnesses.

This modification secures the wire harnesses within the ramp control panel to avoid contact
with any element inside the panel such as rivets or panel walls.

B. Effectivity
S-92 helicopters delivered with ramp control panel, part number 92550-03801-101, having
the following serial numbers:
C001 to C006, C320-00007 to C320-00022, B320-00023 to B320-00177, B320-00179,
B320-00181 to B320-00188, B320-00190, B320-00191.

Ramp Control Panel Part No. 92550-03801-101.

D. Description

The ramp control panel is removed and Aernnova Service Bulletin No. ANN-S92-006, dated
Dec 22, 2010 is reviewed and complied with. The ramp control panel is reinstalled.
Helicopter is returned to service.

The change affected by this document is classified as Minor, and is FAA approved in
accordance with the applicable requirements of United States Federal Aviation Regulations
14 CFR 29. This constitutes EASA approval under the terms of the current interim
procedures for working with the European Community on airworthiness certification and
continued airworthiness. The design data provided in this document is automatically
approved by EASA Decision No. 2004/04/CF, as amended by EASA Decision No. 2007/

B. Modify ramp control panel as follows:

(2) Review and comply with Aernnova Service Bulletin No. ANN-S92-006, dated Dec 22,
2010.

(3) Install ramp control panel. Refer to Maintenance Manual, SA S92A-AMM-000,

Chapter/Section 52-31-01-900-002.

(4) Examine components for security. Make sure area is clean and free of foreign
objects.

This document details the incorporation of a modification, which has been deemed necessary to
retrofit or rework to S92A ramp control panel P/N 92550-03801-101 already delivered to
SIKORSKY/OPERATORS.

1. PLANNING

A. REASON

In order to prevent wire chafing, the wire bundles will be retrofitted to avoid the contact
with any element in the control panel such as rivets or walls.

B. DESCRIPTION - TIME FOR ACCOMPLISHMENT

(1) DESCRIPTION

This service bulletin describes the procedure to perform the necessary modifications to
avoid the ramp control panel internal cables chafing, and so, malfunctions in the ramp
control panel. In case that evidences of cable chafing are encountered during the
accomplishment of this service bulletin, repair following the instructions also included
herein.

(2) TIME FOR ACCOMPLISHMENT

Implementation of this Service Bulletin at operator’s discretion

A. JOB SET-UP.

10. Make sure that the aircraft is safe for maintenance.

B. PROCEDURE.

Disassembly

20. Remove ramp control panel . AMM-000-52-31-01.

Ramp control panel cable inspection

30. Remove ramp control panel cover plate. See FIGURE1FIGURE1

40. Visually inspect the wires to search for damaged wires and proceed as follows:

1. If a minor damage is found in the sleeves of wiring proceed with Repair (step 50)
2. If a major damage is found (beyond the limits of the repair procedure shown in
section “Repair”), replace unit.
3. In case no damaged cables are found, continue with the modification (step 100).

Repair

50. Release one end of the damaged wire from the connectors end (not the switches end). Use
the pin extractor M81969/14-10 for J2 or J3 and M81969/14-11 for J1 connector. See
FIGURE1FIGURE2

60. Repair the wire by protecting the damaged zone using a heat shrinkable sleeve.

70. Reinstall the extracted pins in their corresponding locations. Gently pull the wire to make
sure that the pin was inserted properly. See FIGURE1FIGURE2

80. Using FLUKE 189 MULTIMETER check continuity between the following pins :

(702) in the centre position, Cargo light switch in OFF position and Baggage light switch in
OFF position. Using megohmmeter CA6521 check insulation resistance above 50 MΩ
between the following pins (only blank cells).

100. Install the angle mounting fixing UNEX 1257 at the closest screw of the connector J1 to the
cargo light switch. See FIGURE3.

PART II KIT P/N 92200-03070-013

110. (This step only for Ramp Control Panel S/N B320-00081 and on). Remove and discard all
three existing cable ties from the bundles that join the connectors J1, J2, J3 to the panel
switches.

120. Cut a section of spiral tape as long as required in order to install it around the bundle of
cables that connects terminals J1 and J3 and wrap around the bundle of wires (ref. 5.90 in.
long). See FIGURE3 and PHOTO 1.

130. Cut a section of spiral tape as long as required in order to install it around the bundle of
cables that connects terminal J2 and panel switches and wrap around the bundle of wires.
(ref. 11.02 in. long). See FIGURE3 and PHOTO 1.

140. Cut a section of spiral tape as long as required in order to install it around the bundle of
cables that connects ramp control switches and cabin light switches and wrap around the
bundle of wires (ref 3.54 in. long). See FIGURE3 and PHOTO 1.

150. Clean the back wall using alcohol.

160. Bond the bracket to the back wall using the epoxy adhesive following the manufacturer’s
instructions before proceeding to next step. See PHOTO 2.

170. Clamp both bundle of cables previously protected with spiral tape to the bracket on the
back wall using cable tie. See FIGURE3 and PHOTO 3.

180. Using cable tie, clamp the bundle of cables that connects terminal J2 to panel switches at
the angle mounting fixing UNEX 1257 on connector J1. See FIGURE3.

190. Install the ramp control panel cover plate. See FIGURE3.

200. Using FLUKE 189 multimeter do the following checks. FIGURE 2
