Family Feud – game rules

Two teams of c. 5 people are chosen. The seating of the teams is illustrated below.

A1 B1
A2 B2
A3 B3
A4 B4
A5 B5

In the first question, ask players A1 and B1 to come next to the board. In the second
question, ask players A2 and B2 and so on. The host reads the question and each player
presses their key on the keyboard (A and L respectively). The person to press their key first
wins the face-off and answers the question. If they give a wrong answer, the second player
can answer. If the second player gives an incorrect answer, ask player A2, then ask B2, then
A3 and so on until a correct answer is given. The captain of the team whose player
answered the question correctly has the choice to pass or play (pass means passing the
question to the other team). The captain may consult this decision with other players. Then,
the players of the team answer the question. If the answer given is wrong, play moves on to
the next player in order A2, A3 etc. (the person who was at the face-off doesn’t answer). For
an incorrect answer, a strike is given. On the second strike, the second team may start
talking to each other quietly about the question (notify them about that). On the third strike,
the captain of the second team tries to answer the question (say “Team B can steal”). If
their answer is incorrect, the first team gets the points. Otherwise, the second team gets the
points. When first reading the question, read the prompt, wait for the answer numbers to
appear on the screen, and then read the question. After the set of questions is completed,
the Fast Money round begins. The winning team (the one with most points) selects two
players. The first one has 20 seconds and is asked 5 questions during that time. The second
one waits outside of the room. They have 25 seconds and cannot duplicate an answer of the
first player (if they do, a sound will play). If the total points awarded was greater than or
equal to 200, the team wins.
