Of all the Christmas
markets, this is the
original
A stroll through the traditional market in the
heart of the city is simply a must in the run-up
to Christmas. After all, you can’t miss out on
that absolutely gorgeous bauble to complete
your tree decoration, and the flock of sheep
around your nativity scene is in urgent need
of some additions, too. Quite apart from the 1
fact that mulled wine and bratwurst are just
so much more delicious when savoured in November 21, 2022 to
the crispy winter air. This traditional market December 24, 2022
with roots dating back to the 14th century is Venue: On Marienplatz
considered the original among Munich’s (main square) and in
Christmas markets. Set against the romantic the Fußgängerzone

The Himmelswerkstatt (“Heavenly Workshop”) is a craft work- to be afraid of the creepy creatures and shag-
shop for children age 6-12. The little ones can even dress up as gy-looking fellows. Live Bavarian parlour
angels if they like. The workshop will be held every day at music from the Town Hall balcony featuring
TIP! Munich Town Hall from November 24 to December 11 from wind instruments, singers and choirs will set
2.30 pm to 4 pm and 4.30 pm to 6 pm. Admission is free. the mood for the Advent season, starting at

Venue: Theresienwiese – once again offers a fantastic Christmas
(Oktoberfest fairground) market this winter: featuring music and

Forest”) also beckons with glittering
sculptures.
Anyone wanting to round off 2022 with
something special can either celebrate in
style with artistry and organic food at the
Tollwood New Year’s Eve Gala or enjoy live
music and DJs at the legendary New Year’s
Eve Party.

This easy summit hike is rewarded with a panoramic view of
the Bavarian Alpine foothills and Lake Tegernsee. Germany’s
surrounding area longest toboggan run (6.5 km) goes from the Wallbergbahn
