Read the Article "Education and Training for TQM", then answer the following
questions:
1. What is the academics role in education and training for total quality management?
elaborate your answer.

Total Quality Management has been adopted in many firms in recent years, and the
subject is gaining traction in numerous academic institutions. TQM has increased in
popularity as a result of the tangible benefits that can be gained from providing high-
quality products and services to clients while also lowering costs by eliminating resource
waste. In academic’s role in education which there are two main areas one can consider
in education for total quality management is education as an academic subject and
education as an organizational development. This approached to management courses
which integrates subjects in other areas which also to give opportunity to produce a
dynamic and integrated course in order to provide quality education in TQM. Each year,
the number of educational and training resources available from diverse sources
expands. However, in the four major areas of academic development, quality
awareness, cultural transformation, and tailor-made training, the optimum approach for
teaching and training for TQM must be established. It is also critical for interested
parties to engage in innovative research and development work in the following areas to
ensure that education and training systems continue to improve.

2. How important is education and training of workforce in a company ?


TQM relies heavily on education and training. It is also the single most expensive factor
in any TQM deployment, depending on the size of the firm, with the largest component
being people's time. By educating individuals, you are automatically communicating with
them and, as a result, with everyone they come into touch with. As a result, you may
immediately contact a large number of people and achieve the critical mass required for
quality improvement. Because training is one of the most important aspects of overall
quality that involves a large number of people, the success of the implementation is
directly related to how well it is done. Education and training for total quality
management is used to change the culture of workforce which also helps for the
organization to be trained together, and reflecting an integrated approach to the training
program.
