Regional Artist Project Grant Workshop and Application Deadline Announced

Regional artists are invited to submit applications for FY2011-12 North Carolina Arts Council Regional Artist Project (RAP) grants. Applications must be received by the Arts Council of Fayetteville and Cumberland County by 5pm, October 3, 2011. A free grants workshop will be held at 11:30am Saturday September 3 at the Louise Wells Cameron Art Museum located at 3201 South 17th Street in Wilmington. Workshop attendance is not required to submit an application but is highly recommended for first-time applicants. The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County will be administrating the RAP grants this year and applications must be submitted to the following address: PO Box 318, Fayetteville, NC 28302-0318. Other RAP workshops being held regionally include the following: Cumberland County: Mon., Aug. 22, 5:30 p.m., at the Arts Council, 301 Hay Street, Fayetteville, NC. Washington St., Rockingham, NC. Robeson County: Wed., Sept. 8, 5:30 p.m., at Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater, 315 North Chestnut St., Lumberton, NC. career. The project must take place between November 1, 2010, and October 31, 2011. Awards may range from $500 to $2,500. These grants support professional artists in any discipline and at any stage in their careers to pursue projects that further their professional development. Types of fundable projects include: Creation of new work Purchase of equipment Professional development workshops Travel support for expenses associated with a professional opportunity such as participating in an exhibition or a conference Development or upgrading of promotional materials such as brochures, video tapes, compact disks or slides Grant amounts vary from region to region. Statewide, they generally range from$500 to $3,000.
