10.2 The Storage Conditions and the Points for Attention in Storage
If the crane will not put into use for a long time (over 6 months), following protective
measures should be taken:
1) Wipe out dust and oil dirt to keep the crane clean.
2) Retract all the piston rods of the cylinders fully.
3) Pump up the tires to specified pressure and put wooden blocks beneath the tires to keep
them away from the ground.

4) Put the battery in a dry and ventilating place and charge it periodically.
5) The surfaces of all exposed components should be greased to prevent them against
corrosion.
6) Clean the wire ropes and grease them.
7) The crane should be stored in a garage. If not, it must be covered up with water-proof cloth
to prevent it against corrosion. In winter, antifreeze measure should be taken.
8) Start the machine once a month and operate all the working systems at idle speed to check
whether they work normally.
9) Assign a person to keep the crane in perfect condition to make it ready for operation at any
time.
10) Run the crane stored more than three months at idle speed for at least an hour once three
months and carry out the cleaning and the maintenance periodically. As for the crane which
has been stored more than one and half years, besides routine cleaning and maintenance, the
aging sealing elements should be replaced.
