ACTIVITY 2. UNLOCKING OF IMPORTANT TERMS/CONCEPTS.

1. Real Development
- the process of improving the quality of all human lives and capabilities by
raising people's levels of living, self-esteem, and freedom.
2. Balanced Development
- is a requirement for shared prosperity and long-term economic success. This
calls for improving relations between urban centers and rural areas, as well
as between more developed and less developed regions. It also calls for a fair
distribution of essentials of life and the establishment of lucrative, productive
jobs.
3. Micro-Level Development
- offers a development alternative to traditional governmental structures. Local
level economic activity is varied and pervasive across geographic contexts,
necessitating more creative ways to maximize the potential for development.
4. Meso-Level Development
- considers a population of average size. There will be a variety of perspectives
on peace, conflict, and violence presented by various communities and
organizations of people. For example, the concerns facing a specific city or
tribe might be applied to problems affecting bigger populations or broader
activities.
5. Macro- Level Development
- a significant policy objective given its potential to eradicate poverty across
entire communities. In our assessment of the literature, we stress that
adopting a synthesis of concepts and methodologies is the best way to attain
this goal, with experiment science as a defining characteristic.
6. Developmental Aggression
- term used by indigenous peoples to refer to development projects that violate
their human rights.
7. Sustainable Development
- can be interpreted in many different ways, but at its core is an approach to
development that looks to balance different, and often competing, needs
against an awareness of the environmental, social and economic limitations
we face as a society.
8. Eclectic
- deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources.
9. Praxis
- practice, as distinguished from theory.
10. Globalization
- term used to describe how trade and technology have made the world into a
more connected and interdependent place. Globalization also captures in its
scope the economic and social changes that have come about as a result.
