Armadas - Basic info and the best way for us to run them

New Armada Targets

Armada Targets are powerful new opponents that can be found in Level 20+ star
systems across Federation, Klingon, Romulan and neutral space.

 Armada Targets can only be attacked by Armadas - they are too strong to be
defeated with normal attacks

research bonuses and abilities:

 Research: Combat - Defensive Tactics

 Gladius Class - Secret Weapon
 Grace Chen - Energy Absorber
 T’Laan - Objective Defense
 Tal - Resistance

New Resources
Armada Credits are earned by defeating Armada Hostiles and can be used to purchase
rewards in the Alliance Store.
 Armada Directives are used to start Armadas. Players can get more from the
Alliance Store, by completing Daily Goal milestones, and by upgrading the Armada
Control Center.
 Armada Tactical Cores are specialized command, control and communication
systems used to upgrade the Armada Control Center

Everything you need to know about Armadas!

To start an Armada attack, you need the Armada Control Center building in your station.
Starting at level 23, this building can be unlocked through a new research node called
‘Unlock Armada Control Center’ in the Station research tree. This research uses a new
resource, Armada Tactical Cores. 2200 tactical cores are required to do the research.
This is a pack purchase or handing in credits in the alliance store for tactical core packs
after joining armadas.

Starting an Armada attack requires Armada Directives, a new resource. These can be
acquired from the Alliance Store, and by upgrading the Armada Control Center (each
new level grants some Directives). They can also be acquired, from completing Daily
Goals (one of the milestone rewards will award some Directives dependent on your level)
or purchased via the store.
Once you start an Armada attack on a target, it creates an 'Armada Pin' on the system
map close to the target, with a zone around it.
In order to take part in the Armada attack, you and each member of your Alliance who
wants to participate need to:

(1) Join the Armada and

(2) Have a ship idle within the zone when the attack takes place and the countdown
expires (15 minutes after you start the Armada attack).
The maximum number of ships that can take part in the Armada attack ranges from 2-5
and is determined by the building level of the leader’s Armada Control Center (the
Armada leader’s ship also counts toward the max). You can join multiple Armadas with
your ships, but only your strongest ship in each Armada will take part. (You can consider
any extra ships as a backup in case your main ship gets taken out by another player).
The ships that will be taking part in the battle will have a purple glow around them in the
system.
When the timer runs out, the Armada leader’s ship, as well as the most powerful ships
that have joined the Armada and are within the Armada zone will all fight together against
the target. If you take part in an Armada attack that defeats the target, you'll earn Armada
Credits, which can be used to buy new reward packs in the Alliance store. One of the
participants of the Armada will have the chance at receiving a loot chest with additional
credits!
The launch of Armadas will feature challenging cooperative PvE targets that grant
significant rewards. You will be able to play together and help your friends progress by
leading or contributing your ships to Armadas.
Not only that - but Armadas will also provide players opportunities to compete. Armada
tournament events reward Alliances for their performance. Be on the lookout for players
attempting to intercept your Armada as it forms. Or find theirs and strike back! When you
find an Armada target, get your Alliance ready to defend against any incoming competing
players. - We will not interupt other alliances armadas, this has cost players money
inmost cases to get the directives, especially rare and eipc and this is not a practice we
will be following. This element of the PVP part of the game as an alliance we will not be
following as it has to much negative interaction with others and costs a player real money
in these cases. We may however have to defend some from certain players.

OUR RULES and Notes

So that we get every one up and running as fast as possible and on going.
Communication is paramount. CHAT WILL BE REQUIRED AND ORGANISED
WITHOUT TOO MUCH SPAMMING

NOTES

1) DO NOT START AN ARMADA UNTIL YOU HAVE THE BUILDING TO

LEVEL 20 AND CAN TAKE 3 PLAYERS WITH YOU ITS A WASTE OF
CREDITS, JOIN SOME ARMADAS GET SOME CREDITS AND BUY MORE
CORES IN THE ALLIANCE STORE.

2) A player that has purchased a pack has significantly helped the alliance by opening
up the ability to build their centre, the only other way is to grind the events to get
cores and directives so we should all be very grateful to those that were prepared to
spend a little to help all 70 of us.

3) you need 2200 tactical cores to research the building, then you need a an increasing
number to build each level of upgrade. That means each player will likely need to join
at least 10 armadas to get enough credits to get the largest tactical core pack - This
will not happen immediately for every one it will take a few days to get enough cores
as the tactical core pack is on a 24 hour timer. Patience is required. If you have
already joined a number of armadas let some others go and join some more a little
later there are 70 of us it will take a little time its a marathon not a sprint

This will require some clear concise communication to arrange the raids. The easiest
way is people are in chat. If your not you need to be so that players know you are
online and want to join, don't spam i want to join. i want to join all the time.

To be taken on an armada players will need to consider several things

The size of the armada. realistically we should concentrate on 1M plus armadas. They
are effectively a tough base to crack so the total power of the armada fleet should be
at least 50% of the level of the armada you are attempting if not 60%. The reason for
this is armadas are very expensive in terms of repair costs and speed ups. if you hit a
5m armada and have 4 lower level players you are going to waste the 100 directives
and cost every one full repairs.

I would suggest if a large armada is being done 5m-10m for example you would need
to make sure you are taking 3 large players with 600k plus ships only for that size
armada, i would also suggest run one large armada then run 5 or 6 1m to 3m armadas
for 2 or three smaller players to join in on for the chances of the credits which
everyone needs.

How to form an armada.

1) find the armada note its power level

2) post in chat 3M/1M etc armada need 3 players. DO NOT START THE ARMADA
UNTIL THE TEAM HAS BEEN SELECTED AND READY TO GO - Watch out as
other alliances may also start the timer on the same armada, first come first served
you may lose some.

3) anyone online can then quickly pop the ship type and total power in chat for the
armada leader to consider what mix of players and power he needs / wants to take.

4) the armada leader posts in chat MYSELF/Player1/Player2/Player 3

5) Those players and those players alone go to the armada. one of you take a spare
ship in case the armada is in hostile space for one of those players to take out the
fighters for the group. highly likely the armada leader would do this being the larger
player to help.

6) the players going on that armada post in chat YES OMW so that you have
confirmed your attendance. if you fail to post the Yes OMW within a few minutes
another player may need to be invited as armadas and players are based all over the
map and travel time means you don't want lose out on the armada because a player
hasn't arrived yet.

7) if you start an armada and fail. they do not regenerate, immediately restart the
armada and confirm the same players again. the reason for this is those 4/5 players
just lost their ship on that armada cost them repairs and speed ups, they should be able
to return and just finish it off. No one else should jump in unless that player is logging
off in which case that player would make the armada leader aware of it first so a
replacement can be found. Another alliance may take advantage and steal it if they do
not a lot we can do about it we have to be more careful selecting the right ship and
power to make sure we one shot the armadas.

4) do not jump in on an armada uninvited - we are a team and upsetting your team
mates by knocking them out of armadas will cause grief for everyone.

5) being realistic the smaller players with under 100K ships you are not going to be
able to take part in many armadas as your ships will take up a valuable slot for others
so this is where i would propose any player level 26/28 and above that has access to a
faction ship which are stronger should take a additional responsibility and run 2-3
normal armadas and then 2-3 armadas of 500-800k power and take 3 small players
with them so that all levels of players get access to the credits and can start the builds
and research.
Lets be clear about this part, this means the larger player is making a sacrifice here to
help others out by taking larger amounts of damage to take smaller players, so please
be appreciative that this is costing other players resources in repairs and speed ups so
we aren't going to be running armadas all day every day. The dailies still need to be
done and the events as well. points for the events are based on the larger armadas so
the sacrifice again is earning less alliance points and solo points to help others out.
Please appreciate this

6) I know some players have less communication in English than others but from all
the players we have even those with a basic english or google translate will recognise
their name in chat and be able to post the messages required to join armadas. I know
reading every message in chat is impossible even i cant read every single one of them
and i am on all day, but armadas are a team event, you have to all play as a team and
work as a team. If you know you are online for an hour for example, dont expect to
run armadas solidly for an hour, each one takes 15 minutes so you are likely only
going to go on 1 or 2 to allow all 70 players access to this part of the game. Also your
all aware you all play at different times of day so at times there are more player on
and at times less. If you are looking to join an armada an armada drop a quick
message in chat

something like "armadas Northstar 300k" that way it is clear you want an armada you
have that ship and that power so that you can be invited once one is ready. These take
15 mins wait time each as well as travel time patience is needed.

You may have to drop the repeat message "armadas ship type and power" the next
time some one advertises they are going to start an armada or 10-20 minutes later as
no one will remember every post all the time.

PLEASE DO NOT JUMP IN ON SOMEONE ELSES ARMADA AND KNOCK

OUT ANOTHER PLAYER - IT IS RUDE AND WILL ANNOY AND UPSET
YOUR FELLOW TEAM MATES. We have a great bunch of players here i really do
not want to have any issues resulting in removing players.

If you have a problem with a player, pm that player, be polite be courteous, swallow
your tongue and send a nice message even though you may be annoyed. and discuss
as an adult in a calm and adult fashion discuss the issue and resolve it.

If necessary post a copy of those conversations on discord to me privately NOT IN

GENERAL CHAT we are not here to have digs at people. I will then be able to see if
players are not playing well as part of this team what has been said what has happened
and review it accordingly. PLEASE GUYS AND GIRLS. This is new content to you
all, its exciting, its also time consuming and costly. Lets get it right.

Armadas take a lot of time and need you to all work together for the benefit of the
alliance.
