Ramzan Series - 2011

Do you know the one who denies the (Day of) Judgement? It is he who pushes the orphan away, and urges not to feed the needy. Woe, then unto those praying ones, who are heedless of their prayers, who want to be seen and praised, and refuse (to give) even little things in charity. (Quran 107: 1-7) Never let your enmity for anyone lead you into the sin of deviating from justice. Always be just: that is closest to being God-fearing. (Quran 5: 8) Your Lord has decreed that you shall serve none but Him, and do good to your parents. Should one or both of them reach old age with you, never say Ugh to them, nor scold either of them; but speak to them kindly and respectfully, spread over them the wings of humility and mercy, and say, My Lord, have mercy upon them, as they raised me up when I was little. (Quran 17: 23- 24) Kind words and the covering of faults are better than charity followed by injury. God is free of all wants, and He is Most-Forbearing. (Quran 2:263) "Turn not your cheek away from people in scorn and pride, and walk not on earth haughtily; for God does not love anyone who acts proudly and boastfully. Be modest in your bearing and lower your voice; for the ugliest sound is the donkey's braying" (Quran 31: 18-19) Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah , they would have found within it much contradiction. (Quran 21:33)

O you who believe, you shall avoid any suspicion, for even a little bit of suspicion is sinful. You shall not spy on one another, nor shall you backbite one another; this is as abominable as eating the flesh of your dead brother. (Quran 49:12) "We have sent revelation to you as We sent revelation to Noah, and the prophets after him, as We sent revelation to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants, including Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron and Solomon, and We gave David Psalms- of some Messengers before you We have told you, of others We have not- and God spoke to Moses as well. Messengers who gave good tidings as well as warnings, so that mankind, after the coming of Messengers, would have no excuse before God [on the Judgement Day]; God is All- mighty, All-wise" (Quran 4: 163-165) "Know that the life of the world is only play, and idle talk, and pageantry, and boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children;........ the life of the world is but matter of illusion" (Quran 57:20) "When a (courteous) greetings is offered to you, meet it with a greeting still more courteous, or (at least) of equal courtesy" (Quran 4:86) "O you who believe, no people shall ridicule other people, for they may be better than they. Nor shall any women ridicule other women, for they may be better than they. Nor shall you mock one another, or make fun of your names. Evil indeed is the reversion to wickedness after attaining faith. Anyone who does not repent after this, these are the transgressors" (Quran 49:11) "O you who believe! Why do you say that which you do not do? Grievously hateful is it in the sight of Allah that you should say what you do not do" (Quran 61:2-3) "They ask you about wine and gambling. Say, "In them is great sin and benefit for people. But their sin is greater than their benefit." And they ask you what they should spend. Say, "The excess" Thus Allah makes clear to you the verses that you might give thought" (Quran 2:219)

"O ye who believe! Ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should ye treat them with harshness, that ye may Take away part of the dower ye have given them,-except where they have been guilty of open lewdness; on the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing, and Allah brings about through it a great deal of good" (Quran 4:19) "O ye who believe! stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest ye swerve, and if ye distort (justice) or decline to do justice, verily Allah is well- acquainted with all that ye do. " (Quran 4:135) "Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah; that which hath been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by being gored to death; that which hath been eaten by a wild animal; unless ye are able to slaughter it; that which is sacrificed on stone (altars);also is the division (of meat) by raffling with arrows: that is impiety" (Quran 5:3) "And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] by that [deed] which is better; and thereupon the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend" (Quran 41:34) "And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Indeed, their killing is ever a great sin " (Quran 17:31) "Whoever kills a person without his being guilty of murder or of creating unrest in the land, is as though he kills the whole of mankind" (Quran 5:32) "They act as if they are doing you a favor by embracing Submission! Say, "You are not doing me any favors by embracing Submission. GOD is the One who is doing you a great favor by guiding you to the faith, if you are sincere" (Quran 49:17) When any of them is told about the birth of a female his face turns dark, and he is filled with suppressed anger, and he hides himself from people because of the bad

news, thinking: should he keep the child despite disgrace, or should he bury it in dust? Unquestionably, evil is what they decide. For those who believe not in the Hereafter is an evil similitude, and Allah's is the Sublime Similitude. He is the Mighty, the Wise " (Quran 16: 58-60) "Surely Allah enjoins justice, kindness and the doing of good to kith and kin, and forbids all that is shameful, evil and oppressive. He exhorts you so that you may be mindful. (Quran 16:64) "and he(Jesus) will be a Messenger to the Children of Israel. 'I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I will make for you from clay the likeness of a bird and then I will breathe into it and by the leave of Allah it will become a bird. I will also heal the blind and the leper, and by the leave of Allah bring the dead to life. I will also inform you of what things you eat and what you treasure up in your houses" (Quran 3:49) "Behold, We revealed this (Qur'an) on the Night of Power. And what do you know what the Night of Power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. All peace is that night until the rise of dawn" (Quran 97: 1-5) We have sent down the Book that you may explain to them the truth concerning what they are disputing and that the Book may serve as a guidance and mercy for those who believe in it. (Quran 16:64) ".......Thus does He (God) complete His favour upon you that you may submit to Him. But if they turn away, your only duty is to clearly deliver the message of the truth. (Quran 16:83) "Verily, with every difficulty there is relief" (Quran 94:6)

"We shall set up just scales on the Day of Resurrection so that none will be wronged in the least. (We shall bring forth the acts of everyone), even if it be the weight of a grain of mustard seed" (Quran 21:47) But the notables among his people had refused to believe, and said: "This(messenger) is none other than a mortal like yourselves who desires to attain superiority over you. Had Allah wanted (to send any Messengers) He would have sent down angels. We never heard of this among, our fathers, the ancients" (Quran 23:24) "Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth; in the alternation of the night and the day; in the sailing of the ships through the ocean for the profit of mankind; in the rain which Allah Sends down from the skies, and the life which He gives therewith to an earth that is dead; in the beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the earth; in the change of the winds, and the clouds which they trail like their slaves between the sky and the earth;- (Here) indeed are Signs for a people that are wise" (Quran 2:164) "Do they fancy that Our continuing to give them wealth and children (means) that We are busy lavishing on them all kinds of good? (Quran 76: 8-11) "People ask you to pronounce a ruling concerning inheritance from those who have left behind no lineal heirs. Say: 'if a man die childless and he have a sister, hers is half the heritage, and he would have inherited from her had she died childless. It is not lawful for you to take of what you have given them unless the couple fear they may not maintain God's bounds; if you fear they may not maintain God's bounds, it is no fault in them for her to redeem herself. Those are God's bounds; do not transgress them. Whosoever transgresses the bounds of God -- those are the evildoers" ( Quran 2:229) Say: "Surely, if mankind and jinn were to get together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they will never be able to produce the like of it, howsoever they might help one another." What if one of the Children of Israel testifies to its similarity to earlier scripture and believes in it, and yet you are too arrogant to do the same? God certainly does not guide evil-doers. (Quran 46:10) "And if you be in doubt whether the Book We have sent down to Our Servant is from Us or not, then produce, at least, one Surah (chapter) like this.
