DELSEAL 3-15 High Performance Sealant Profile DELSEAL 3-15 is a high performance water resistant low shrinkage, durable single component acrylic sealant for sealing various types of joints, where it forms tough highly durable permanently flexible plasto elastic seal. DELSEAL 3-15 has excellent weather and UV resistance and can be used for indoor {and outdoor applications. Usage DELSEAL 3-15 is ideal for application for sealing of joints in concrete, cement mortars, ‘asbestos, metal, ceramics, wood, stones and ‘construction expansion joints, aluminium sheets, roof walls in roofing systems as well ‘as joints in windows and doors. Delseal 3-15 ‘also can be used for sealing of joints in roof tiles and skirting of airconditioning and in ducting systems. In all applications, the width of the joints must not exceed 30 mm. DELSEAL 3-15 is also ideal for application on galvanized steel, aluminium and mild stee! ducts where it quickly forms a strong bond and sealing. Service Temperature “10°C to *95°C Wet Flammability Non Flammable (ASTM D 3278) Coverage Brush Application : 1.20 M per liter (50 sq. ft,/gallon) at 0.8 mm (0.032 inch) wet film thickness. (Caulking Gun : 45 linear meter (148 linear feet) per 310 mi cartridge at about 3.2 mm (% inch) bead thickness. When applied at about 6.4 mm bead thickness, 10.5 linear meter (35 linear feet) per 310 mi cartridge. Lower atmospheric temperature and higher humidity level may retard the drying of sealant and vice versa. Installation Procedure General DELSEAL 3-15 can be applied by a brush, caulking gun, glove, trowel or power extrusion, ‘Surface Preparation All surfaces to be applied must be clean, dry and free from dust dirt, cil, grease and any other contaminants.Application For Concrete substrates : and — Cementitious Prime the surface with DELSEAL 3-15 primer by diluting DELSEAL 3-15 with water in the ratio of 1:2 and allow to dry completely. Then apply DELSEAL 3-15 by suitable application ‘method in the required level. Duct Sealing Applications : Apply by brush or gun DELSEAL 3-15 continuously in to the joints, adjoining area and all areas of the duct system where air leakage is expected. On spiral ducts system apply a coat of DELSEAL 3-15 to the male end of coupling prior to assemble the straight run of spiral duct over it and coat over the joints to ensure complete seal. Flanges and screw holes also may be Sealed in DELSEAL 3-15. Jackets and Other Sealings DELSEAL 3-15 should be dried for minimum 24 hours at temperature 25°C or more prior to pressure testing. When applied between two impermeable surfaces, drying time may be extended. ‘Actual coverage may vary, depend on the type, nature and evenness of the surface and the application method. Outdoor horizontal surfaces, must be always drained and dried completely, prior to the application of DELSEAL 3-15. For horizontal duct surfaces, a minimum pitch of 2 cm per meter ('% inch per feet) is required. Always test foils and paper facing for adhesion requirements, prior to application. Never apply in open areas, if rain imminent. Cleaning lean brush and equipments with fresh water when wet. Dried sealant may be removed with proprietary cleaning solvents, Health and Safety Generally safe, non toxic and non flammable in wet condition. However, avoid prolonged skin contact. Use of gloves is advisable. If eyes are affected with DELSEAL 3-15, rinse with amount of clean fresh water. If ingested, seek medical attention immediately.
