 Dorongan (emotional support) agar tidak kembali
merasa down

Background

Mental illness has become the global burden of disease since the
sufferer cannot live productively (cannot work)

Nurses should to enhance the quality of care for people with mental
illness

Have lacks the ability to control
his/her behaviour and can not
manage his/her daily live events
so he/she can not fullfill physical
and emotional needs

Not only free from the illness, but more than that, it is
way of live to make the survivor have a better live with
their limitation cause by their illness
WHAT IS RECOVERY
 A deeply personal, unique process of changing one’s
attitudes, values, feelings, goals, skills, and/or roles.
 It is a way of living a satisfying, hopeful, and contributing life
even with limitations caused by illness (Anthony, 1993)

individual person’s unique needs, preferences, and
experiences.
Empowerment:

 Consumers have the authority to exercise choices and make
decisions that impact their lives
 and are educated and supported in so doing.
Holistic:

 Recovery encompasses the varied aspects of an individual’s


life including mind, body, spirit, and community.
Nonlinear:

 Recovery is not a step-by-step process but one


based on continual growth with occasional setbacks.
Strengths-Based
 Recovery focuses on valuing and building on the multiple
strengths, resiliency, coping abilities, and capabilities of the
individual
Peer Support
 The role of mutual support in which consumers encourage one
another in recovery is recognized and promoted.
Respect:

 Community, systems, and societal acceptance


and appreciation of consumers—including the
protection of consumer rights and the elimination of
discrimination and stigma—are crucial in achieving
recovery.
Responsibility:

 Consumers have personal responsibility for their


own self-care and journeys of recovery.
Hope:

 Recovery provides the essential and motivating message that


people can and do overcome the barriers and obstacles that
confront them.

CONCLUSION

Mental illness are still and will become


a trend of disease in Indonesia.
It is time to have a community mental
health center with mental health
nursing programs to apply recovery
concept, so the process of recovery
of people with mental illness can be
done as it should be.
