1.1 Introduction

In today’s generation, everyone who’s not living under a rock has been introduced or has
been using electricity for some time now because almost everything we do will always involve
electricity from the basics of going to the toilet and reading the news on your phone, to the big
scales like going out and doing your jobs. Basically, electricity is everywhere, and with
electricity involving in almost all aspects of our lives, it is inevitable that some bad habits will
develop under the circumstances like for example, leaving your devices plugged on the outlet
even if you are not using it or just simply sleeping while such devices like a TV were operating.
On bad days these simple bad habits could turn into a terrible situation like fires. According to
the National Fire Association, cloth dryers that are left unattended are reportedly the cause of
nearly 3,000 home fires each year, causing an estimated $35 million in property loss. Luckily
thanks to the brilliant minds of modern engineers, they implemented fail-safes on modern
appliances and devices today that reduce such odds of occurring but even with these, people
always tend to do something that they have not thought about and will always lead to a new
problem. And what’s bothering is that some people who conduct these bad habits are not even
informed that what they are doing is terrible and could cause an accident, so with that the
researchers have decided to course a case study on how aware are these people that what they are
doing is terrible and needs to be changed and if they do know that what they are doing is bad,
how prepared are they if an accident is to occur.

This study will enlighten the readers and researchers on how aware and prepared are people
about bad electrical habits and electrical accidents
