One size, to fit adult head size 51-61 cm / 20-24 ins with a generous negative ease. The rib pattern will easily stretch to twice the
width. Crown shaping does not have a noticeable spiral, but instead rib pattern is reduced until last decrease rounds. Long brim can
be rolled twice for a fitted crown, once or not at all for a slouchy fit.

Ssk: slip, slip, knit - Left leaning decrease of 1 stitch. Working
one at a time, slip next two stitches knitwise to right hand

BEFORE YOU BEGIN
All measurements given are approximate and are rounded
off to the nearest 0.5 cm / ¼ in. Always knit a test swatch.
This will allow you to check tension, as well as preview
finished fabric. Adjust needle sizes to obtain the tension
quoted in the instructions. Wash and / or block swatches to
avoid any unwanted surprises.
INSTRUCTIONS
Brim
With circular needle cast on 160 sts. Place contrasting marker
and join round, taking care not to twist.
Work even in rounds of 2 X 3 Rib Pattern, until piece from beg
measures approx 23 cm / 9 ins.
Crown
Change to double point needles or alternative method, once
it is required. (First marker is already in place)
Rnd 1: [PM, (k2, p3) 3 times, k2, p1, p2tog] 8 times. 152 sts
Rnd 2 and ALL even numbered rounds: Work stitches as they
appear (knit the knits and purl the purls).

taking care not to stretch out the ribbed brim.
