Introduction
Andrew Russell Garfield is an English and American actor who was born in born in Los
Angeles and raised in Epsom, England,
Garfield began his career on the UK
stage and in television productions. He
made his feature-film debut in the 2007
ensemble drama Lions for Lambs. Also
in that year, his performance in the
television film Boy A earned him the
British Academy Television Award for
Best Actor. He came to international
attention in 2010 with supporting roles Figure 1 Andrew Garfield at the SAG Awards in 2022

in the drama The Social Network for which he received nominations for a BAFTA Award
and a Golden Globe Award for portraying Eduardo Saverin, and the science-fiction romance
Never Let Me Go, for which he won a British Independent Film Award. Garfield
subsequently gained wider recognition for playing Spider-Man in the superhero film The
Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and its 2014 sequel. In 2016, Garfield starred in Mel Gibson's
war film Hacksaw Ridge and Martin Scorsese's religious epic Silence. His portrayal of
Desmond T. Doss in the former earned him nominations for an Academy Award, BAFTA
Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and Golden Globe Award, all for Best Actor. In 2021,
he portrayed Jonathan Larson in the musical Tick, Tick... Boom! and reprised his role as
Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The former earned Garfield his first Golden
Globe Award and second Academy Award nomination.

On stage, Garfield has played Biff in a 2012 Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's play Death
of a Salesman starring alongside Philip Seymour Hoffman and directed by Mike Nichols. His
performance earned him his first nomination for a 2012 Tony Award for Best Actor in a
Featured Role in a Play. In 2017, Garfield starred as Prior Walter in a production of Angels in
America at the Royal National Theatre in London, a role for which he was nominated for a
Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Play. In 2018, he reprised the
role on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre, for which he received a Tony Award for Best
Actor in a Leading Role in a Play in the same year.

4
In his early life Garfield was a gymnast and a swimmer. He had originally intended to study
business but became interested in acting at the age of 16 when a friend convinced him to take
theatre studies at A-level, as they were one pupil short of being able to run the class. Garfield
attended Priory Preparatory School in Banstead and later City of London Freemen's School in
Ashtead, before training at the Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London.
His first job was at Starbucks, being moved between three separate establishments in Golders
Green and Hendon.

Garfield began taking acting classes in Guildford, Surrey, when he was 9, and appeared in a
youth theatre production of Bugsy Malone He also joined a small youth theatre workshop
group in Epsom and took theatre studies at A-level before studying for a further 3 years at a
UK conservatoire, the Central School of Speech and Drama Upon graduating in 2004, he
began working primarily in stage acting. In 2004, he won a Manchester Evening
News Theatre Award for Best Newcomer for his performance in Kes at Manchester's Royal
Exchange Theatre (where he also played Romeo the year after), and won the Outstanding
Newcomer Award at the 2006 Evening Standard Theatre Awards. Garfield made his British
television debut in 2005 appearing in the Channel 4 teen drama Sugar Rush. In 2007, he
garnered public attention when he appeared in the series 3 of the BBC's Doctor Who, in the
episodes "Daleks in Manhattan" and "Evolution of the Daleks". Garfield commented that it
was "an honour" to be a part of Doctor Who.

Chapter 1: The Amazing Spider-Man and worldwide recognition

Garfield was cast as Spider-Man/Peter Parker, opposite Emma Stone as his love

interest Gwen Stacy, in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), a reboot of
the Spider-Man film series. Garfield saw his casting as a "massive challenge in many ways",
having to make the character "authentic" and "live and breathe in a new way". He described
Peter as someone he could relate to and stated that the character had been an important
influence on him since he was a child. For the role, he studied movements of athletes and
spiders, and tried to incorporate them, and practiced yoga and Pilates. The Amazing Spider-
Man earned a worldwide total of $752,216,557, and Garfield's performance was generally
well received. The Guardian's Peter Bradshaw labelled his portrayal as the "definitive Spider-
Man" and Tom Charity of CNN commended his "combination of fresh-faced innocence,
nervous agitation and wry humour ".

In March 2012, Garfield made his Broadway theatre debut as Biff Loman in the revival
of Death of a Salesman. According to The New York Times's David Rooney, Garfield had
successfully "exposed the raw ache of Biff's solitude". Garfield was nominated for a Tony
Award for Best Featured Actor in a
Play for his performance. Two years
later, Garfield hosted an episode
of Saturday Night Live and appeared
in a music video for the song "We
Exist" by Arcade Fire, playing a
trans woman. Also in 2014, he co-
produced and starred in the 2014
independent drama 99 Homes and
Figure 2 Andrew Garfield as Spider-man in the 20212 movie The
Amazing Spider-man reprised the titular role in The
Amazing Spider-Man 2. Following a deal between Sony and Marvel Studios to integrate the
Spider-Man character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, sequels to the latter film were
scrapped, and the role was later taken on by Tom Holland in a reboot. Arachnologists Yuri
M. Marussia and Alireza Zamani honoured Garfield's portrayal of the role by naming a new
species of crevice weaver spider, Pratham Garfield, after him.

Garfield's version of the character is a successor to the version of Peter Parker portrayed

by Tobey Maguire in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007) and a predecessor to the

6
iteration of Peter Parker portrayed by Tom Holland in the MCU (2016–present), both of
whom appeared as their versions of Spider-Man alongside Garfield in No Way Home. To
distinguish him from the other two versions of himself, he is nicknamed "Peter-Three" by
them in the film itself, referred to by Marvel's official website as The Amazing Spider-Man,
and in the script as Webb-Verse Peter/Spider-Man.

Garfield's iteration of the character had some differences in personality to the Spider-Man of

the previous film series, being more of an angst-ridden loner haunted by his actions than
before. The narrative of the duology centres around Parker struggling to maintain his double-
life as Spider-Man and relationship with fellow student Gwen Stacy, whose death at the
hands of his former friend Harry Osborn he would later consider himself responsible for. The
narrative also focuses on Parker seeking to uncover the reason his parents Richard and Mary
vanished and left him with his aunt and uncle when he was a child, alongside the nature of his
father's work at Oscar.

Despite The Amazing Spider-Man duology itself receiving average reviews, Garfield's

performance as Parker has received wide critical praise, and is commonly seen as a highlight
of the film series. Upon Garfield's appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have
launched a campaign for the cancelled The Amazing Spider-Man 3 to be made.

1.1 Casting

British-American actor Andrew Garfield was cast as Peter Parker/Spider-Man for the 2012

film and its sequel, with his casting being officially made on July 1, 2010. Other actors
considered for the role were Jamie Bell, Alden Ehrenreich, Frank Dillane, and Josh
Hutcherson. Webb stated he knew Garfield was the right choice after filming him in a
cutscene eating a cheeseburger while trying to calm Gwen Stacy down. On accepting the role
Garfield explained, "I see it as a massive challenge in many ways ... To make it authentic. To
make the character live and breathe in a new way. The audience already has a relationship
with many different incarnations of the character. I do, as well. I'm probably going to be the
guy in the movie theatre shouting abuse at myself. But I have to let that go. No turning back.
And I wouldn't want to plays a young Peter Parker in the film, with Webb stating that a
young Peter was needed to "explain the origins of Peter Parker" and not just Spider-
Man. After taking the role, Garfield studied the movements of athletes and spiders, and tried
to incorporate them, saying Parker is "a boy/spider in terms of how he moves, and not just in
the suit". He did yoga and Pilates for the role to be as flexible as possible. When first wearing

7
his costume, Garfield admitted to shedding tears and trying to imagine "a better actor in the
suit”, which he described as "uncomfortable" and admitted to wearing nothing beneath it
since it is skin-tight. Garfield also performed some of his own stunts in the film. When
filming Garfield explained that he had four months of training and described his physical
roles on stunts as terribly challenging and exhausting. Film producer Avid Arad explained
that "Andrew is not only a brilliant actor but he is a sportsman. This gave us the opportunity
to try things with him that were it not so it would have been almost impossible."

Following the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Garfield was allegedly let go of the role
after failing to appear for a crucial appearance, according to documents released in the
aftermath of the 2014 Sony Pictures hack. Other reasons cited included creative differences
with Sony Pictures management and a failure to adapt to Hollywood culture. In addition, the
second film saw mixed reviews and a
franchise-low in box-office revenue.
After leaked information from the hack
also indicated Sony to be in talks to
have Sam Raimi direct Spider-Man vs.
The Amazing Spider-Man, a multi-
versal crossover  film featuring
Garfield's Spider-Man Figure 3 Andrew Garfield in the movie The Amazing Spider-man 2
(20214)
encounter Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, as well as a new trilogy starring Maguire; and to
also be in talks with Marvel Studios about integrating a rebooted version of Spider-Man into
the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), beginning with Captain America: Civil War (2016),
a deal was reached in early 2015 between the two studios to make the latter official,
effectively cancelling The Amazing Spider-Man franchise.

Despite the reboot of the Spider-Man film series, Garfield reprised his role in Spider-Man:
No Way Home (2021), a film set in the MCU, appearing alongside Maguire's iteration of the
character as a supporting character to the new MCU iteration of Spider-Man played by Tom
Holland. It was reported in 2020 that Garfield would reprise his role as his version of Peter
Parker alongside the other cinematic iterations of the character in the third MCU Spider-Man
film; however, these reports were never confirmed by Sony or Marvel Studios and were
publicly denied by both Holland and Garfield several times in order to keep their involvement
in the film a secret. In an interview with Variety that was published on January 6, 2022,
Garfield said that his experience working on Spider-Man: No Way Home was "joyful", and

8
that it gave him closure with his version of the character. Tom Holland described the
inclusion of his Spider-Man predecessors Garfield and Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man: No
Way Home 'was an idea that seemed impossible' before it came to fruition. Holland has also
stated he regretted not contacting Garfield after he initially succeeded him in the role and felt
lucky that Spider-Man: No Way Home had given both actors a second chance to discuss the
Spider-Man character.

1.2 Power and suit design

Unlike the Spider-Man of the previous series, this

iteration of the character is unable to shoot organic
webs from his arms, relying on self-designed
mechanical web shooters attached to his suit. Webb
explained that he felt that the web-shooters were
"able to dramatize Peter's intellect". However, like
all other versions of the character, this iteration of
Parker has superhuman physical abilities, reflexes,
and senses, and is able to crawl on walls.

During the design process for the spandex Spider-

Man suit used in The Amazing Spider-Man, Webb
Figure 4 the costume that was made for
put an emphasis on making the suit look as if it was Garfield when he was casted as Spider-man

made by a high-school student. This was shown through decisions such as making the lenses
for the eyes from a pair of sunglasses. Webb explained that he and the crew wanted a design
that would make the body look more acrobatic, with the "legs of the spider [symbol on the
chest]" used to emphasize it. Webb revealed that the film used varying suits for different
lighting conditions. The webbing on the costume was also made darker.

The suit was more streamlined in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, emphasizing updates
supposedly made by Peter and Gwen in between the two films. Changes included larger
lenses in the mask and modified web shooters, in addition to some modifications allowing
Garfield to use the restroom while in the suit.

Chapter 2: The spider-man movies
The Amazing Spider-man (2012)

Peter is first seen in the film as a six-year-old boy, as

his father Richard Parker drops him off at his Uncle
Ben and Aunt May's house after discovering that his
documents were ransacked. Richard tells his son that
he and his mother will be back after going on a
mission, but they both mysteriously disappear. Years
later, Peter is now a high school student at Midtown
Science High School in New York City. Though not
one of the popular students, he excels in his studies
while getting picked on by school athlete Flash
Thompson. After Gwen Stacy breaks up a fight
between Peter and Flash in which Flash attacks Peter
for defending another student he was picking on, Figure 5 the poster for the first movie in which

Peter and Gwen begin to flirt with one another.

After discovering a briefcase containing his father's work, and with encouragement from
Uncle Ben, Peter seeks out his father's co-worker, Rd. Curtis Connors. Peter immediately
searches the Internet for information about Richard and Connors' work, which leads him to
discover his parents' death in a plane crash. Peter sneaks into Oscorp, posing as one of the
interns, and locates the one-armed Dr. Connors after bumping into Gwen, who is an actual
intern there. Connors is being pressed by his superior, Dr. Ratha, to devise a cure for the
dying head of Oscorp, Norman Osborn, and wants the cure for himself to regenerate his own
arm. After Peter manages to sneak inside the bio-cable lab, a moment of curiosity leads to
him touching the webs, causing several genetically-modified spiders to fall on him, one of
which bites him in the back. On the subway ride home, he discovers he has developed spider-
like abilities, such as super-strength, sharp senses, reflexes, agility, and speed.

Peter later visits Connors at his home, revealing he is Richard's son and gives Connors his
father's "decay rate algorithm," the missing piece in Connors' experiments on regenerating
limbs. In school, Peter is put in detention after using his new abilities to humiliate Flash. His
uncle changes work shifts to meet with the principal and ask Peter to walk Aunt May home
for him that night. Peter forgets to do so, distracted while at Oscorp helping Connors
10
regenerate the limb of a laboratory mouse with a new serum. At home, he and Ben argue, and
Peter leaves. At a nearby deli, a cashier refuses to let Peter buy milk when Peter is two cents
short. When a thief suddenly raids the store, Peter allows him to escape. While searching for
Peter, Ben attempts to stop the thief and is killed. The thief escapes as Peter finds Ben dead
on the sidewalk.

Flash and Gwen console a grieving Peter at school the following day. Afterward, Peter uses
his new abilities to track down criminals matching the killer's description, later resolving to
create a mask to hide his identity during his exploits. He adds a spandex suit and builds
mechanical web-shooters out of wristwatches to attach to his wrists to shoot a bio cable
"web". Later, at dinner with Gwen's family, he has a tense conversation with her
father, NYPD captain George Stacy, over the new masked vigilante's motives. After dinner,
Peter reveals his identity to Gwen, and they kiss before he is alerted to a situation at
the Williamsburg Bridge. Changing into his suit, Peter saves numerous cars and their
occupants from being tossed into the river by The Lizard, who is actually Dr. Connors after
he tests the serum on himself. Peter begins calling himself "Spider-Man" afterward,
becoming influenced to help others with his powers.

Peter suspects Connors is the Lizard, and later unsuccessfully confronts Connors' Lizard form
in the sewers, leaving behind his camera. Connors learns Peter's identity via the name on the
camera and pursues him to Midtown Science High School where they fight. In response, the
police start a manhunt for both Spider-Man and Lizard. Connors heads to Oscorp, intending
to disperse his serum across the city and make everyone into lizards, while Gwen develops an
antidote in Oscorp's lab. The police corner Spider-Man and Captain Stacy discover that he is
Peter, but he lets him escape to go save Gwen. Realizing Spider-Man is on their side, the
police and several crane operators then coordinate to help a wounded Spider-Man reach
Oscorp Tower in time. Spider-Man manages to replace Connors' serum with the antidote,
reverting Connors to human form, but not before Connors mortally wounds Captain Stacy.
Before his death, Captain Stacy makes Peter promise to stay away from Gwen for her safety.
He initially keeps the promise, but later admits to Gwen that failed promises are "the best
kind", hinting that he will continue to see her.

2.2: The Amazing Spider-man 2 (2014)

Two years later, Peter is in action as Spider-Man, assisting the NYPD with chasing down
criminals stealing a truckload of plutonium while trying to make it to his high school

11
graduation. He apprehends the criminals, led by
mobster Aleksei Sytsevich, before making it to the
ceremony, where Gwen is giving a speech as the
school's valedictorian. The couple agrees to meet up
afterward for dinner before she is called by her mother
for a family photo. Later in the evening, Peter tells
Gwen about his visions of her father and insists that he
needs to keep his promise, resulting in the two breaking
up again.

Peter visits Harry Osborn, his childhood friend,

following his father Norman's death. Later that night,
Peter meets Gwen in an attempt to maintain a friendship,
and Gwen tells Peter that she may have to move to England if she gets a scholarship
from Oxford University. Before the two can discuss it, Max Dillon, an electrical engineer
whom Spider-Man saved earlier, accidentally shuts off Figure 6 the poster for The Amazing Spider-
man 2 (2014)
the power to Times Square whilst looking for
electricity to power himself, as he had mutated into a living electric generator after an
incident with electric eels. Dillon is stopped by Spider-Man after a battle that also sees police
involvement and is taken to the Ravencroft Institute, where he is studied and tortured by
German scientist Dr. Kafka.

Harry begins to show symptoms of his father's illness and uses the device Norman gave him
to deduce that Spider-Man's blood could help save him. He asks Peter for help finding him
but Peter refuses, unsure of what effects the transfusion would have, fearing another incident
like with Dr. Connors. Parker visits Harry again, this time as Spider-Man, but again refuses.
He confides in Gwen about the situation and also gives her luck. Peter uses information left
behind by his father to locate a video message Richard left. In it, Richard explains that he had
to leave New York because he refused to let Norman Osborn use what they had created with
his research for biological warfare and that the spiders that ultimately bit Peter were created
with Richard's DNA, thereby explaining why Peter is the only successful 'cross-species' to be
created.

As a vengeful Harry begins to conspire with Dillon, who now calls himself "Electro", Peter
receives a voicemail message from Gwen, telling him that she was offered the job in England
and is heading to the airport to fly there earlier than expected. Peter manages to catch her and

12
professes his love for her, and the two agree to go to England together. They are interrupted
by a blackout caused by Electro. Peter takes Gwen down where the police are and Gwen
helps him adjust his web-shooters to counter Electro. Peter heads off to fight with Electro
having the upper hand. As Electro begins electrocuting Spider-Man, Gwen comes in a police
car and hits Electro, against Peter's demands. The two defeat and kill Electro
by overloading his electricity supply.

Just after they do so, Harry arrives, now as the Green Goblin, having figured out Spider-
Man's identity and wanting revenge for being refused the blood transfusion. Goblin takes
Gwen and drops her where Spider-Man catches her. The two, fight at the top of a clock
tower, and Spider-Man manages to subdue the Goblin. However, during the fight, Gwen falls
and is supported by a web-connected to one of the gears. Harry is then defeated but Gwen
falls again, and Peter tries to save Gwen using his web. Though Peter successfully catches
her, she dies nonetheless due to whiplash snapping her neck. Devastated by his failure to save
his girlfriend, Peter ends his career as Spider-Man.

Five months pass and Spider-Man is nowhere to be seen in New York, as Peter spends every
day at Gwen's grave. Later, an unknown team of men breaks Sytsevich out of prison.
Equipped with an electromechanical suit of armour, Sytsevich dubs himself the "Rhino" and
rampages through the streets. Peter, inspired by re-watching Gwen's graduation speech,
resumes his role as Spider-Man and confronts him.

An alternate ending of this film shows Peter encountering his father Richard at Gwen's grave,
with Richard having faked his death to keep Peter safe. Richard comforts his son on Gwen's
death, having both lost someone they deeply love, and he
inspires Parker to carry on while stating "with great
power comes great responsibility."

2.3: Spider-man: No way home (2021)

An indefinite time after the events of The Amazing

Spider-Man 2, Peter (dubbed "Peter-Three" during the
events of the film) is accidentally transported to
a different reality due to a failed magic spell by Doctor
Strange and that universe's Peter Parker (dubbed "Peter-
One") meant to restore Peter-One's secret identity after it
was exposed by Mysterio. Unbeknownst to Peter, his universe's Curt Connors (taken

13
sometime before the climax of The Amazing Spider-Man) and Max Dillon (taken moments
before his death) were also transported into this universe, among other villains. While there,
Peter finds another version of himself transported from another universe (dubbed "Peter-
Two"), who helps him console Peter-One after the death of his Aunt May. He reveals that
after Gwen died, he became bitter and more brutal while becoming more of Spider-Man and
less of Peter Parker. Peter, however, is happy to bond with his alternate selves as they cure
the villains and save them from the deaths they would face in their own universes. Coming to
see Peter-One and Peter-Two as brothers, Peter achieves a moment of spiritual redemption
for Gwen's death by saving MJ, Peter-One's girlfriend, when she falls off the Statue of
Liberty. After defeating and curing all the villains and making amends with Dillon, Peter says
goodbye to his alternate selves and is returned to his universe as a happier and more content
man.

Chapter 3: Multiverse

In the latest Spider-man movies we can see how there is a multiverse and there for are
multiple spider-mans .They are all connected through the multiverse . Back at Ned's home,
they're getting worried that they haven't heard from Peter and as they talk about him, a portal
appears. However, it's not their Peter that comes through it, but Andrew Garfield's Peter
Parker and when Ned repeats the trick, Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker arrives.

They both came into the MCU universe at the same time as the villains and can sense that
Peter needs their help. MJ and Ned take them to visit Peter who is hiding out on the top of
their school, and the three Spider-Men bond over their losses (Uncle Ben for the oldies,
naturally).

"[Tobey, Andrew, and Tom] care so deeply about the characters, and what their characters—
what their journey had been as Spider-Man," Zendaya said recently about the major cameos.

"It was so beautiful to see all of you guys connect on that and be able to talk to each other
about such a special experience that very few people have been able to don the suit. It was
great to see how much you guys all really cared and had each other's back. It was really
sweet."

14
Back to the movie and Peter wants to kill the Green Goblin for what he did to Aunt May.
However, the alternate Peters persuade him that instead of becoming "rageful" like they did,
he should carry out his plan to cure the villains. The trio all work together on cures for the
villains, before they carry out a plan to lure them all to the Statue of Liberty with the magic
box.

Electro, Lizard and Sandman take the bait, while MJ and Ned escape through a portal with
the box. Ned fails to close it though and they're drawn into the heat of the battle, with the box
still in play.

When the three Spider-Men learn to work together, they manage to cure Sandman. The
heroes get an unexpected boost when Doc Ock arrives and cures Electro for them, before
Lizard is the final one out of the trio to be cured. When Ned opens another portal for them to
leave, Doctor Strange walks through instead. Unfortunately for the Spider-Men and Strange,
the Green Goblin arrives and destroys the box. Garfield's Peter saves MJ when she falls from
the Statue of Liberty in the chaos, while Ned is saved by Stranger’s cloak when he falls as
well. As the spell starts to crack the multiverse open, Peter brutally battles the Green Goblin
and goes to stab him with his own glider. Maguire's Peter stops him and is stabbed by the
Green Goblin as a thanks, not fatally though, fortunately. Peter cures the Green Goblin
instead of killing him, but even with the villains' threat gone, the damage has been done.
Strange can't contain the spell, so Peter persuades him to do the spell again and this time,
make sure that everybody forgets who he is – including MJ and Ned.

As he explains the situation, Peter promises that he'll find them later and make them
remember him. The spell is completed by Strange and everybody is sent back to their various
universes, with the villains all seemingly facing a new future.

We catch up with Peter a few weeks later as he goes to see MJ at the diner she works at. He's
about to tell her the truth when Ned arrives, and he sees how excited they are about joining
MIT. When he sees a plaster on MJ's head (a result of the final battle), Peter chooses not to
tell them the truth as they'd be in danger if they knew who he was.

The final moments of No Way Home we see Peter visit Aunt May's grave where her see’s
Happy who no longer knows him, before Peter moves into a new apartment and gets ready to
continue fighting crime as the (now anonymous) friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.

15
As for the next spider-man movie we can expect a lot because without his mentor Iron Man
around, Peter will take it as an opportunity for a clean break and to work on a smaller scale.
We'd love to see a more intimate Spider-Man movie next time around and, after all, it's not
like they can go even bigger than No Way Home.

Chapter 4: The return of Peter Parker

In a recent interview with the actor, we found why he wanted to come back and play Peter
Parker once more:” I wasn’t expecting to ever have a conversation again about potentially
playing Peter Parker. I felt very excited to just to be a fan again. But I got this call from Amy
Pascal and Kevin Feigen and Jon Watts with this idea. It was immediately undeniable. It
sounded incredibly fun, incredibly spiritual — trippy and thematically interesting. On a base
level, as a Spider-Man fan, just the idea of seeing three Spider-Men in the same frame was
enough.

The pitch was really, really enticing. They said, “You played this character in your way and
what would you want to explore if you had an opportunity? If you were dumped into this
other universe and faced with this younger you and this older you, how will you respond?”

We talked a lot about mentorship. We talked a lot about brotherhood and about what it is to
be the older brother, younger brother and the middle brother. There’s also a thing of seeing
someone you love walking down a path that you’ve already walked down, and you know it
doesn’t lead the place where you ultimately meant to go.

That character is isolated in his

emotional experience and physical
experience. But what happens
when that aloneness gets blasted
open, and you come to realize that
you’ve never been alone and there
are other brothers going through
the exact same thing? That’s a big
Figure 8 Andrew Garfield in Spider-man no way home play one of the
Spider-mans from the movie spiritual journey to go on, man.
And then we just milked out all the fun that we could possibly have.”

16
The actor also talked about his time on the set and the relationship he had with the other two
actors Tom Holland and Toby Maguire “We were shooting for two weeks, Tobey and I, but I
think we managed to achieve something that is not just showing up and going, “Hi! Bye!”
My Spider-Man got to save his younger brother’s romantic relationship, potentially. And to
heal the most traumatic moment of his own life through doing it for his younger brother.
Making sure that he didn’t have the same fate, there’s something cosmically beautiful about
that. It meant getting a second chance at saving Gwen (Stacy, Garfield’s love interest in “The
Amazing Spider-Man” played by Emma Stone).

You know, the spirit that Zendaya brings to MJ is so heartfelt and pure and loving, and
Emma brought that similar unique spirit to Gwen.

I think the first time we were all in the suit together, it was hilarious because it’s like just
three ordinary dudes who were just actors just hanging out. But then also, you just become a
fan and say, “Oh my god we’re all together in the suits and we’re doing the pointing thing!”
There was talk about going to the bathroom and, you know, padding around the package. We
talked about what worked for each of us. Tom was jealous because I have little zippers in my
suit that I can get my hands out of very easily. To work his phone, he had to use his nose
because he couldn’t access his hands. We would have deeper conversations, too, and talk
about our experiences with the character. And to have Amy Pascal there, who has seen
through nine movies, including “Spider-Verse.” It was a revelatory experience for her,
realizing how much life and time she’d given to this character. That was beautiful and
profound.

There’s a line I improvised in the movie, looking at Maguire, Holland and I tell them I love
them. That was just me loving them.”

Least but not last, he also talked about the feeling he had when he saw all the positive
response “I am so grateful. I’m just really, really grateful that I got to tie up some loose ends
for the Peter that I was playing. I love that character and I’m grateful that I got to work with
these incredible actors, this incredible director, and Marvel in conjunction with Sony. It was
joyful, and a feeling of closure for me. There were so many unanswered questions for my
Peter, where we left it. I got to step back in and get some healing for him. And also, really
supporting Holland’s Peter, and honouring his character completing that trilogy, not
distracting or detracting from it.”

Conclusion

Spider-man will forever be one of the most loved super-heroes of all times. Throughout the
years he has gained numerous fans and Marvel has created an empire of some sort. The actors
who have played Spider-man have gain an enormous popularity from the role. As for
Garfield being casted for Spider-man was one of his biggest rolls out of his career. Garfield
has made a huge impact on the Spider-man series and fan were thrived to see him put on the
Spider-man costume once more. In an interview for the lates Spider-man movie Garfield said
that:” “Well, I was just waiting to see if Tobey was going to do it, and if Tobey was going to
do it, then I was like, ‘Well, I have no choice,’ you know? I follow Tobey to the ends of the
Earth. I’m a lemming for Tobey, but that was sincerely a big part of it when I was approached
about it, and again, it’s similar to what Tobey was saying. It was like, ‘Oh, the intention feels
very pure here. It actually feels like a great creative idea and a great creative story.’ It wasn’t
like they were just asking us to come and say hi and then leave again but actually have our
presence being in service to Tom, being in service to Tom’s journey and where he is as Peter
Parker. And I love the destiny feeling of the multiverse expanding in this film, and actually,
without Tobey’s Peter and Andrew’s Peter being present for Tom’s Peter at this very
moment, he may not become the Peter Parker that he’s supposed to become. … Getting three
Spider-Men together could go one of two ways, and I think it’s a testament to these guys that
it went the way that it went, which was a brotherhood, which is just beautiful. “This series of
movies can be enjoyed by everyone and kids these days love the superhero movies. Andrew
Garfield is still at his prime age and we can expect much from him in the future, maybe
another Spider-man movie, who knows?
