Topic: Christian Conduct

Question: What is Christian Conduct?

Conduct yourself in a manner worthy of the gospel of Phil 1: 27

Who is a Christian

A Christian is someone whose behavior and heart reflecta Jesus Christ. Acts 11:26

A Christian is also someone who has heard the good news of salvation through Christ, who believes that
Jesus is the son of God, who repents of his sins, confess his faith in Christ and who has been baptized
into the body of Christ.

Meaning of conduct

Conduct is to behave in a particular way, especially in a public or formal situation

What then is Christian Conduct

Christian Conduct is a way an individual whose heart reflect Jesus behave on the public or formal
situation.

Know this that once you have given your life to Jesus Christ, you're no more of the world and all things
are new. So as a Christian the way we behave (Christian Conduct) is important.

Though some may be like *we are not under law but under grace(Romans 6:14,15). This does not mean
that we may do as we like, but rather it means we want to do what God likes because He has done so
much for us. We should not avoid worldly pleasurea and amusements because we have to, but because
we want to. The reason we want to is because Christ died for us, and now our ambitions are to live in a
manner that will please Him(2Corinthians 5:14, 15). God does not say “if you keep away from sinful
pleasures, you will be a Christian" But He said to the believer “You are a Christian now, live in a way that
is consistent with your high calling.

SOME FEW KEY VIRTUES OF CHRISTIAN CONDUCT.

✓ LOVE

We need to have love in our hearts; we have to love each other and we have to love the LORD.
Matthew 22:37-40 The Ten Commandments are based around us loving the Lord our God and loving our
neighbor as we’d love ourselves. Ask yourself, do you treat people like you want to be treated?

✓ FORGIVENESS
Eph 4:32 tells us to be warm hearted and forgiving of each other as Jesus Christ forgave us. We cannot
be unforgiving and expect the Father to forgive our sins.

Jesus told Peter that he must forgive his brother 70 times 7 times; in other words we have to keep
forgiving because the LORD keeps on forgiving us. If we are not able to forgive, Jesus tells us plainly that
the Father will not forgive us. How is that for holding grudges; someone will end up in judgment over
the fact they could not forgive someone else to have their sins forgiven.

QUOTE: FORGIVENESS IS NOT SOMETHING WE DO FOR OTHER PEOPLE WE DO IT FOR OURSELVES TO GT

WELL AND MOVE ON

“I therefore the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you thay ye walk Worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are
called"(Eph4:1) you

✓ PATIENCE

et angry; anger rest in the bosom of fools. When you plan to let someone have a piece of your mind in
an angry manner, the wisest man the world has ever seen says you are a fool. Tame your spirit by
constant conscious practice and pray to God for increased patience.

✓ FAITH

The last virtue, character, or mentality we need to exercise as Christians is our faith. This does not speak
only to faith in God and in the belief of Jesus Christ but in the power He gives us to achieve the things
we want, to have the strength we need to read, follow, and help others in His Word.

If you only believe you can keep a mediocre job; be it according to your faith. If you believe you can
never get healed, “be ye it according to your belief.” As Christians we need to believe we are as Christ in
our mindset. We need to believe we can do all things through Jesus Christ that strengthens us.

To maintain Christian Conduct, ask yourself the following questions;

• is there any glory for God in it?(1 Cor 10:31)

• is it of the world?(John 17:16, 1John 2:15-17)

• would Jesus have done it? (1Peter 2:21)

• is it fiting conduct for a child of God? (Rom 2:24)

And if there is least bit of doubt in your mind, don't do it for “he that doubteth is
damned(condemned)...for whatsoever is not of faith is sin"(Romans 14:23)
Remember “conduct denotes peculiar behavior
