Top Email Security Solutions

Over 636,558 professionals have used PeerSpot research. Here are the top Email Security vendors based on product reviews,
ratings, and comparisons. All reviews and ratings are from real users, validated by our triple authentication process.

Chart Key

Views Comparisons Reviews Words/Review Average Rating

Number of views Number of times compared Total number of reviews on Average words per review Average rating based on
to another product PeerSpot on PeerSpot reviews

Bar length
The total ranking of a product, represented by the bar length, is based on a weighted aggregate score. The score is calculated as follows:

For each ranking factor of Reviews, Views, and Comparisons, the product with the highest count in each ranking factor gets a maximum 18
points. Every other product gets assigned points based on its total in proportion to the #1 product in that ranking factor. For example, if a
product has 80% of the number of reviews compared to the product with the most reviews then the product's points for reviews would be 18
* 80% = 14.4.

Both Rating and Words/Review are awarded on a fixed linear scale. For Rating, the maximum score is 28 points awarded linearly between 6-
10 (e.g. 6 or below=0 points; 7.5=10.5 points; 9.0=21 points; 10=28 points). For Words/Review, the maximum score is 18 points awarded
linearly between 0-900 words (e.g. 600 words = 12 points; 750 words = 15 points; 900 or more words = 18 points). If a product has fewer than
ten reviews, the point contribution for Rating and Words/Review is reduced: 1/3 reduction in points for products with 5-9 reviews, two-thirds
reduction for products with fewer than five reviews.

Reviews that are more than 24 months old, as well as those written by resellers, are completely excluded from the ranking algorithm.

All products with 50+ points are designated as a Leader in their category.

VALUABLE FEATURES See more Valuable Features >>

Some of the valuable features on the email side are anti-phishing, anti-malware, and Safe Links. Anything that has the word
"safe" in it is essentially made to defend against the common email vulnerabilities that you would see in similar products.
Without these features, it does not have nearly the capabilities. On the information protection side, the best features are
reviewer150 probably the data loss prevention policies that cover the whole suite of Office 365 applications. I will explain it a little more,

The most valuable feature is the score. By looking at the score, you can identify if you are at risk or not. It also gives the
vulnerability status according to the versions you have selected. Let's say you have Google Chrome. It mentions the versions it
has, and it updates. Within two hours of an update, it is reflected in the dashboard. That's really nice to have. It gives me
Rajitha everything I need, visibility-wise. It also helps prioritize threats across our enterprise and that's very important. That means we

Defender for Office 365 can help your organization configure policies, analyze threats to your organization and respond to
attacks. It is important to note that there are different levels of protection and capabilities depending upon which version of
Office365 license you have. The best features we found most valuable are Forwarding Report, Safe Attachment Files Types,
Vishnu- Treat Protection Status, Malware Detected in Email, URL Threat Protection and many more. [Full Review]

The basic features are okay and I'm satisfied with the Defender. The initial setup is pretty simple. It's easy to configure.

ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT See more Room For Improvement >>

There needs to be an improvement in having the product work across multiple operating systems and have better support for
non-Microsoft file types. Defender for Office 365 handles the Microsoft supported file types, but MIP is limited. This solution
does what it needs to do, but it does not go to the depth of if it was working with MIP, a holistic information protection system.
reviewer150 It does not support all the file types an organization might use. For example, AutoCAD B1 for manufacturing or defence-

In one of the reports, I can get the exact place where a vulnerable file resides. But for that, I need to explicitly go into the

The custom alerts have to improve a lot. Though the system is very good, we have to go and check inside the admin panel to
look at all kinds of reports. We won't get any mail alerts that highlight for us, for example, "today this many of spam attacks
have happened". Or "these many emails have been blocked." We have to manually go into the admin panel and have to check

I was looking for some advanced features, like if I would receive an email that contains a legitimate file type, but the content is
malicious, how I can protect against that? Normally, we are dealing with so many phishing and spam emails. I'd like some
additional features any product can give me to protect our environment in a better way. There is always a chance to continue

The pricing is pretty good and was a major factor in choosing it. The pricing is reasonable when compared with Cisco or some
other products. If it is an IT company, the budget allocation will be more and focused on the IT part. However, when it comes to
a manufacturing company, the budget focus will be more on manufacturing and the budget allocation will be very low in terms

I haven't actually evaluated the cost against other products. For example, it's bundled with the licenses that we have procured,
so everything is included in that. We haven't purchased the Defender separately. We cannot just say that it's a product which is
costly as compared to the other products available in the market or not, as it's a bundled offer. We can calculate the price of

The solution offers very good flexibility. You can blacklist or whitelist with ease. Their entire dashboard is excellent. It's
completely user-friendly, it's easy to navigate. Anything you need to get done, you can do right from the dashboard, which is

There's Microsoft Office 365 email protection. The one good thing they have over Microsoft is their incredible search engine.

I like all the features with Proofpoint, such as how it filters the spam and marketing mail, lost reality mail, blocks phishing

Barracuda has the best price. Every year we need to renew our license, and every year I need to compare Barracuda to two or

The piece that is most valuable from the Mimecast standpoint will be the sandboxing feature. They have a process where

What is the best email encryption software for small enterprises using Office 365?

Hi community,
What is the best email encryption software for small enterprises using Office 365?
It needs to:

Support 20 users
Most staff are at remote sites
Staff are mostly technical but not IT experts
Needs to be robust
Need to be easy to install and use

Thanks! I appreciate the help.

The first question is what version of Office 365? It may already be included... Office Message Encryption or OME:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-...Office 365 Message Encryption is offered as part of Office 365 Enterprise E3 and E5, Microsoft
Enterprise E3 and E5, Microsoft 365 Business Premium, Office 365 A1, A3, and A5, and Office 365 Government G3 and G5. You don't
James need additional licenses to receive the new protection capabilities powered by Azure Information Protection.

For third-party Email Encryption we work with ZIX.

In many years of working in secure environments, I have found a combination of MS BitLocker on the local machines O365 E3-E5 and
adding on Barracuda Essentials https://www.barracuda.com/prod... works great. Encryption is only a very small part of protecting
against cyber threats. Encryption in transit and Encryption at rest are important. But, most email threats and vulnerabilities are in the
PatrickWhe payload itself. Barracuda allows you to control what your users can send and receive via emails, has a plethora of other features and is

affordable for small businesses.
