II. Background
The world of social media is expanding as the days, years, and generations pass. It becomes more
advanced than ever, and many people want it to improve, believing that it would be better if it
continued to develop more than what we have now. People have benefited from it in many ways as it
continues to grow, such as connecting with other people. Easily by chatting with them or posting
something that makes them feel like they’re nearby. However, in addition to the benefits, they face
disadvantages when using social media, such as cyberbullying, which can have an emotional impact.

This cyberbullying is also increasing, resulting in more incidents. Many people have already been victims
of cyberbullying, including well-known figures such as government officials and celebrities, as well as
ordinary citizens. The victim is emotionally harmed as a result of cyberbullying. This cyberbullying is also
increasing, resulting in more incidents. The victim is emotionally harmed as a result of cyberbullying. The
bully impersonates his chosen individual and harasses someone anonymously. In other words, cyber
bullying appears to be simple and unproblematic, but in reality, it causes havoc and emotional harm.
(Jacob Bataqueg, 2023)

Then, it may lead a person to commit any sort of physical injury, for instance, commit suicide. Recent
years, regarding the cyberbullying act, quite a number of cyber bullies had led the victim’s life, who was
bullied and humiliated through the internet to an end (Laird, 2012).

Targets of cyberbullying are also at risk for school absenteeism and poorer academic outcomes due to
decreased concentration and feeling unsafe at school (Hill et al., 2016).

Due to their diminished focus and emotional state, victims of cyberbullying also run the risk of being
absent from school and having worse academic results.

III.Alternatives
TELL THEM TO STOP
Although it probably won't stop them from trying to intimidate you further, writing a clear note to the
bully urging them not to contact you again will be helpful when you provide evidence to the authorities.

REFUSE TO ENGAGE TO THE BULLY

Even while you may not totally stop the bullying, there is a potential that they will grow tired of you
and your lack of response if you don't.

BLOCK THE BULLY

Remove their contact information from your phone, computer, social media etc. If they can't get to
you, they can't annoy you or hurt you.

CyberBullying may never stop, but that doesn't mean that you or your loved ones have to just sit there
and take the abuse.
