CONTEMPORARY ARTS
-the term "contemporary art" refers to art made and produced by artists living today. Below are the
five forms of contemporary art:

I. PERFORMANCE ART
Artworks that are created through actions performed by the artist or other participants, which may be
live or recorded, spontaneous or scripted. Below are the examples:
 The Reincarnation of Saint Orlan by Orlan  Rhythm 5 by Marina Abramović

II. SCULPTURE
An artistic form in which hard or plastic materials are worked into three-dimensional art objects.
Examples are below:
 Spiral 4 by Kenta Hirai  Siren by Anna Alsina Bardagi

III. PAINTING
The expression of ideas and emotions, with the creation of certain aesthetic qualities, in a two-
dimensional visual language. Below are the given examples:
 Peace by Picasso  The Scream by Edvard Munch

IV. DRAWING
As formal artistic creation might be defined as the primarily linear rendition of objects in the visible
world, as well as of concepts, thoughts, attitudes, emotions, and fantasies given visual form, of
symbols and even of abstract forms. Below are the presented examples:

V. INSTALLATION ART
Is a visual artwork that can be constructed from a variety of materials and can be created in a variety
of locations.
