Capstone Update #2

What I have accomplished so far

So far, I’ve accomplished 9 out of 40 hours for my capstone volunteer project. I’ve continued to create
meaningful bonds with the students in both the kindergarten and the grade 2 classroom. I’ve learned
some skills that I could only learn while being in a classroom setting, like how to deal with upset kids or
children that love to tattle.

What I plan to accomplish by the end of the week

By the end of the week, I plan to accomplish learning all the kids' names in the classes. Names are
something I struggle with, but I know that it will help me create stronger bonds if I know who I'm talking
to.

My needs (materials, time, space, mentor etc.)

Currently, I am in desperate need of more time. My biggest worry is that I’ll be unable to make the 40
hours in time. My solution to this problem is to take a couple days (probably in early May) to be at the
school the whole day.

Challenges I encountered and how I have overcome them

A challenge I’ve encountered and continue to encounter is my mental health. I feel it Is getting in the
way of me doing the best job I can do. To try and overcome this, I’ve been going to counselling, and
making monthly appointments with my doctor.
