During Industry Night, there were 3 speakers of the night.

They described what McKinsey is and

what they do to help people within the world. They are driven by their values and there are over 30,000
people in 60 countries speaking over 130 languages. They help organization in the private, public, and
social sectors create change that matters. They have a long-standing commitment to Diversity and
Inclusion. They also support 600+ non-profits annually through partnership and volunteer work. Some of
the people they work with are large multinational companies, small start up businesses, national and local
governments, and charities. They help them think about and ultimately solve the difficult problems that
do not have easy answers. They are helping the world’s leading businesses, governments and charities
solve their biggest problems.
The problems they work on are “How can we keep our airports safe without creating hugs queues
and lengthy security checks?”, “How can we build the same car with 30% fewer parts?”, and “How can
private, public, and social sectors safeguard lives to empower communities in response to COVID-19?”.
Many more questions but that’s only the first 3. They serve the world’s biggest institutions to address
their biggest challenges, including a vast majority of trop technical and engineering firms. You also
collaborate with senior clients, on both technical and business related workstreams, and build expertise in
a broad range of industries and functions. This matters because it solves impactful problems, delivers
sustainable recommendations and builds lasting relationships, and continuously helps you learn and grow.

Many companies are just trying to hire people because they want to help them grow and improve
and they are also just desperate for people to join the engineering workforce because there is a shortage of
workers because of the pandemic. I want to achieve a job in my professional life. I want to be able to
actually get a job and be able to be successful in managing my position. I believe my strength in holding
out and being able to socialize well would be able to land me this job because they talk a lot to clients and
being able to communicate helps the job. I don’t think I have the strengths to do the presentations they
sign you up for when you have a strong proposition, which is why I make the slides and I don’t think I’d
make it based off that.
