CRITERIA FOR QUALITY IN INTERPRETING

Chiaro and Nocella (2004) surveyed interpreters throughout the world  to see their perceptions on
quality criteria. Please see the comparative ranking of quality criteria below and discuss with your
partner each criterion and the order of importance according to the classification below. Do you
agree?

Following this discussion and based on your interpreting practice over the last few weeks,
compile a list of 5 peer-review criteria to be used in relation to consecutive interpreting.
