Role-playing has been shown to be effective in developing students' affective, cognitive, and behavioral learning. By taking on the roles of others, students can practice empathy, perspective-taking, and learn real-world skills like negotiation, debate, teamwork, and cooperation. Role-playing allows students to act out real-life situations to help them explore, investigate, experiment, and make sense of the world while developing communication, language, and social skills through collaboration with others.

Role-play pedagogy has been shown to be effective in reaching learning outcomes in
three major learning domains: affective, cognitive, and behavioral (Maier, 2002; Rao & Stupans, 2012). By making students take on the role of another person, they practice empathy and perspective taking. Provide real-world scenarios to help students learn. Learn skills used in real-world situations (negotiation, debate, teamwork, cooperation, persuasion). Develops communication and language skills. Allows children to act out and make sense of real-life situations. Allows children to explore, investigate and experiment. Develops social skills as children collaborate with others. A role play area is a fun and a 'playful' activity but also a key component in children's learning. It is a social space that develops speaking and listening skills, as well as giving children the opportunity to reflect on and develop their knowledge of a topic, whilst sparking and enhancing creativity and imagination.
