Maslow’s hierarchy of need are concerned with human motivation. Understanding what people need—
and how people’s needs differ—is an important part of effective management. Maslow's hierarchy of
needs can still be relevant in today's culture when viewed as a guide to our many wants rather than a
set sequence in which they must be addressed. Each person has their own priorities and motivations for
pursuing certain requirements at the expense of others This theory is an element of our identity, and it
defines how each of us moves forward in life, determining our needs and everything else.

McClelland’s Three Motives Theory. McClelland’s theory of needs is one such theory that explains this
process of motivation by breaking down what and how needs are and how they have to be approached.
McClelland’s theory can be applied to manage the corporate teams by being identifying and categorizing
every team member amongst the three needs. Knowing their attributes may certainly help to manage
their expectations and running the team smoothly.

Alderfer’s ERG Theory. ERG theory recognizes that employees have multiple needs to satisfy
simultaneously. The theory also can also account for employees that fall victim to the frustration-
regression principle and become more intent on fulfilling relatedness needs, such as socializing more
frequently with co-workers during work hours. For example, when a manager is able to recognize signs
of regression, steps can be taken to concentrate on relatedness needs until the employee is able to
pursue growth again.

Hersberg’s two factor Theory - According to the Two-Factor Theory, managers must place a premium on
ensuring the adequacy of the hygiene aspects in order to avoid employee unhappiness. Managers must
also ensure that the work is engaging and fulfilling so that people are inspired to work harder and
achieve higher results. This philosophy focuses on job enrichment as a means of motivating employees.
The job must make the most of the employee's skills and abilities. Work quality can be improved by
focusing on motivational elements

Explain the significance of this figure in relation with system approach. 10pts.

On a worldwide scale, educational institutions are understood to be a complex system of technological,


social, administrative, and institutional subsystems, and our educational system comprises of many
interconnected components that function together. The system approach to education sees education
as an input-output system, with instructional methods acting as the input and people whose
performance or ideas have improved in some way serving as the output. When we say input, these are
the resources needed, and from the system we have pupils, administration, teachers, materials, and so
on. When we say output, these are the resources needed, and from the system we have pupils,
administration, teachers, materials, and finance, these are the needed input in order to process them
and convert into output, as we have an input those can the undergo into a process through formal or
informal education and those process like methods, techniques or strategies these are relevant in
achieving the output or goals when it comes in achieving educational objectives.
