1. Government is likely to introduce a new draft of the
data protection bill today. The new bill proposes to
set up an appellate body known as the Data
Protection Board, instead of the Data Protection
Authority.
2. Election Commission to hear Lok Janshakti Party feud
over party name, symbol on November 29; Shiv Sena
hearing to follow. The Election Commission of India
(ECI) on Tuesday asked the two warring Shiv Sena
factions to submit the necessary paperwork regarding
their claim to the party's name and its symbol latest by
November 23, following which it will set a date to hear
the dispute.
3. Strategy for future must be to prioritize sustainable,
energy-efficient infrastructure: Puri
Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep
Singh Puri on November 15 said the strategy for the
future must be to prioritize sustainable and energy-
efficient infrastructure to advance the pace of
development.
Speaking at the 63rd foundation day of the National
Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), Mr.
Puri said the company has made a name for itself as a
trusted partner of the government to resolve difficult
projects such as the stalled Amrapali project in Noida.

meeting in Bali

Joe Biden on Tuesday reviewed the state of India-US

2. Former Chinese envoy to India appointed Vice
Foreign Minister
China’s envoy in India who last month completed a
three-year tenure in New Delhi has been appointed a
Vice Foreign Minister in Beijing, the Chinese
government announced on Tuesday.
3. US President Biden convenes an 'emergency’
meeting of global leaders over missile strike on
Poland
Global leaders gathered for the G20 meeting in Bali,
Indonesia, were holding an emergency meeting on
Wednesday after deadly explosions in Poland that
Ukraine and Polish authorities said were caused by
Russian-made missiles. The meeting was convened
by U.S. President Joe Biden, the White House said,
after two people were killed in an explosion in
Poland that Ukraine and Polish authorities said were
caused by Russian-made missiles.
4. Donald Trump fights Twitter ban at US appeals court
Former US President Donald Trump on Monday
asked a US appeals court to revive his lawsuit against
Twitter Inc challenging his permanent suspension
from the platform after his supporters attacked the
US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

1. Youth World Boxing Championships: Vishwanath
Suresh and Deepak Start Indian Campaign in Style
Vishwanath defeated Ireland's Patsy Joyce Thady by
a split 3-2 decision in 48 kg while Deepak beat Useid
Nika of Albania by Referee Stops Contest (RSC)
verdict in 75kg to give India a rousing start in the
competition.
2. Mary Kom, Sharath Kamal chosen as chairperson
and vice-chairperson of Athletes Commission.
Gagan Narang and PV Sindhu were chosen as
commission nominees for the Indian Olympic

far as Shiva Narwal won the Men's 10m Air Pistol
while Sagar Dangi picked up the Junior Men's gold.
Both the Men's and Women's Youth teams also won
their respective competitions to make it a four-gold
day for India.
5. Hockey India Names 23-member Team for Tour of
Australia
Harmanpreet Singh has been named captain of the
team, while Amit Rohidas has been picked as the
vice-captain for the upcoming preparatory matches
down under, ahead of the 2023 FIH Odisha Hockey
Men's World Cup.
