“The Power of Imagination and Creativity to Solve Problems

In his book 'Chalk', published by Two Lions, Thomson (2010) emphasizes the crucial
role of imagination for children to effectively solve problems. The story follows three children
who discover a magical chalk that can bring drawings to life. They draw the sun and butterflies,
which become real, but when one of the children draws a dinosaur, it appears and threatens them.
The children found a way to solve the problem. They drew a rain cloud, which caused the
dinosaur to melt and disappear. key message in this story is the power of imagination and
creativity to solve problems. The children can use their own creative abilities to find a solution to
a difficult situation. This message is particularly important for young readers, who may feel
powerless when confronted with challenges in their own lives.
