A. INTRODUCTORY RITES

o The Lector will still carry the Book of the Gospel
o The Entrance Procession will be from the sacristy
o No Incense except for 10am Mass

o The Choir sings “Hosanna sa anak ni David.” while the priest and Ministers bless
the palms.
o After the Blessing of Palms, the Priest goes to the Lectern for the 1st Gospel
Reading.

a. Blessing of Palms and Opening Rites of the Procession

Prayer for the Blessing of Palms
o The Choir sings “Hosanna sa anak ni David.” while the priest and Ministers bless
the palms.
o After the Blessing of Palms, the Priest goes back at the Center for the 1st Gospel
Reading.

o Altar Servers will accompany by candles and Incense.

b. The Procession
Order of Procession
o Ceriales (Cross with Palm Branch)
o Altar Servers
o The Choir
The Choir will sing “Hosanna sa anak ni David.” All throughout the
procession, especially to the Houses of Host families.
o The Israelites and Angels
They will re-enact the tradition of “Paglalatag”
They will be setting up clothes along the streets.
Angels will also be throwing petals along the Procession.
o The Apostles
o The Priest
The Priest will be holding a large Palm Branch during the Procession.
o Altar Servers and Masters of Ceremonies
The Priest will be accompanied the Masters of Ceremonies.
Candle bearers to be stationed on the Houses of the Host Families.
2 Altar Server to hold the Aspergillum for Blessing.
Book and Mic Bearer to assist the Priest on the rite of Blessing of Homes.
o The People who will join in the Procession.
c. The Solemn Entrance Procession and Opening Prayer
The Entrance to the Church Patio
o The Priest upon arriving at the Church doors will be handed with the Crucifix.
o The Priest then knocks three times at the Church doors using the Hilt of the
Crucifix.
o The Door Opens and the Entrance Procession begins.
The Entrance Procession to the Altar
o The Priest puts incense to the Thurible then the Servers will ring the bell to
signify the start of the Procession going to the Altar.
o The Choir sings “Hosanna sa Anak ni David.”
Veneration of the Altar
o The Priest changes his vestments from his Cope to his Chasuble.
o The Priest then kisses the Altar and Incensation follows.

o The Priest omits the words “Manalangin Tayo”
