Calling of the Candidates

A: Reverend Mosignor Jerome, I now present to you the members of the

Greeters and Collectors Ministry who wish to renew their commitment in
the service of being stewards of God’s people in our Parish.

May we request the candidates to please stand and step forward in front of
the Altar and of the people of God.
(The Animator will call the Candidates. The Candidates proceeds in front of the main Altar)
Examination of the Candidates

P: Dear Sisters, before you are admitted as member of the St. Matthew’s
Greeters and Collectors Ministry, you must declare intention before the
people of God. Please answer truthfully the following questions:

Do you desire renew your commitment as member of the St. Matthew’s

Greeters and Collectors Ministry?

C: Yes Father, we do.

P: As stewards of God’s people, are you willing to accept your responsibility as

ushers, to help the faithful with their needs and to treat them with hospitality
to be able to promote a sense of belongingness among the people attending
the liturgical assemblies of the parish?

C: Yes Father, we accept this responsibility.

P: Are you ready to offer your time and yourselves to this task?

C: Yes Father, we are ready.

Blessing of Pins

P: Let us pray:
Lord, bless these pins which we bless in your name.
Enable those who wear This, to do their duty well that having serve you in our
church on earth, may They be worthy to serve you forever in heaven. We ask
this through Christ Our Lord.

A: Amen.

Blessing of Candles

P: Let us pray:
Accept these candles as a symbol of your service before God and neighbor.
Lord bless these servants that they may carry out their apostolate and lead
Them to be models in their Christian life. We ask this through Christ our
Lord.

A: Amen.

The Priest Sprinkles Holy Water to the Pins, Candles and the Candidates. The Altar
Servers will light the candle of the candidates.

Commissioning Rites

P: Now that you are ready to serve God and His people recite your Pledge of
loyalty in front of God and His people.

C: I offer myself to Almighty God, through Blessed Mary ever Virgin and
under our Holy Patron, St. Matthew And I promise to do my best to serve
reverently, intelligently, punctually, honestly, and Regularly, for His greater honor
and glory and for my own salvation Amen.

P: Dear people of God, we have witnessed the love of these people for the Lord
and for His house. May they really be shining examples to all their friends and
family. Let us join them in their joy and express our approval. Let us clap our
hands.
