 Why do we need Water Purifiers?

We need to purify water to save ourselves from Water Borne Diseases

▪ Water we get in our homes is not completely pure and hence unsafe
▪ Suspended impurities like dirt, bacteria and viruses can cause diseases like

 What is Reverse Osmosis ?

▪ Reverse osmosis removes impurities from unfiltered water, when pressure

forces it through a semipermeable membrane.

▪ Water flows from the more concentrated side (more impurities) of the RO
membrane to the less concentrated side (fewer impurities) to provide clean
drinking water.

▪ A semipermeable membrane has small pores that block impurities but allow
water molecules to flow through.

▪ For example – when pressure is applied to a volume of saltwater during reverse
osmosis, the salt is left behind and only clean water flows through.
