Ben & Jerry’s has been producing ice cream since 1978. The business started as a
partnership in private sector, and grew rapidly. As Ben and Jerry’s is a private business, they
have the ability to set their own aims and objectives. While the company’s main aim is to
make a profit, they have also remained true to the company’s social mission, which focuses
on the business’s role in society and its impact on local and international scale. They also
have to focus on maintaining their customer loyalty, as the ice cream market is extremely
competitive. By, creating their own product range, Ben & Jerry’s have attracted new
customers and improved their reputation.
