entrepreneur/ business builders. Thank for your time in our online mentor development information
session.
TOPIC: THE ART OF MENTORING ENTREPRENEURS Our discussion was mainly covering these five
areas

1. Entrepreneur own relationship: You’re supposed to amend your previous relationship so that you
don’t have challenges in creating and making new relationship. Your previous customers will
provide good recommendation to your business and they will help you to advertise your business
to their contacts.
i. Enterprise awareness. Help business builder understand what the enterprise means to them.
ii. Entrepreneurial DNA/ mindset:
- personality and social identity,
- Ambition, motivation and goals.
- Personal confidence and resilience
- self-discipline and personal organization
- Go beyond beyond perceived limitations to achieve results.
- Tolerance of uncertainty, risk and failure.
- Personal values: ethical, social and environmental awareness.
iii. Entrepreneurial capability:
- A range of behaviors, attributes and skill
- Creativity and innovations.
- Opportunity recognition, creation and evaluation.

iv. Entrepreneurial Effectiveness.

- Strategic Development - Entrepreneurs should learn how to select from a
number of market strategies that can influence their chances of increasing
revenues and succeed; e.g. Choice of Market, Customer Driven, Constantly
Innovate, Differentiation/Focus, Highest Quality, Exporting.
2. Time management;
Business builders are supposed to know how to use the calendar, how to block off time to prepare
and be able to follow up with different things in life so that they can be more organized and literally
realize how long it takes to do things. Entrepreneurs will crash their own business if they don’t
manage their minutes and hours. If they don’t know where their time goes, they don’t know their
where their money goes and if they don’t know where their time and money is going then they are
out of business completely because they don’t have any time and they don’t have any money. That’s
a mess. But walk them through on how to manage calendar. Because this is the most actionable
action for successful entrepreneurs to take care of. They
3. Financial management:
Help business builders to know how to manage their money, this means that they track it, they have
a place that they can see their balances, they manage their expenses. Entrepreneurs who don’t manage their
money it doesn’t make any sense why their business is not working the way they want. But if they manage
their money, they need to know what things cost. They need to know where and what their money is going
to invest, they need to know what percentages they keep, how much is for taxes, how much do they spend
on different things. But if they don’t get into it at the beginning and further down the road it’s an indicator
that they are going to clean up. Coach them on how to manage their money.
3. Tracking and Reporting.
Entrepreneurs don’t like reports. They just don’t. They are one of the reasons why they probably
got into entrepreneurs is that they don’t have to fill out reports. They don’t want to track themselves.
They don’t have to truck what is going on in their business. But they are plenty of things to track
e.g How many people do they talk too, How many people said yes, how many people said no and
what were their excuses, if you could start by that simple track and you know the excuses then you
put up solution mechanism on how they presented themselves you become smart so that they don’t
continue happening. Because you can’t adjust what you don’t have information about.
4. Strength:
Entrepreneur who feels physically weak, is going to be weak in how they present themselves.an
entrepreneur who is physically strong, can work through challenges. Can work through difficulties
because they are feeling strong. Whatever they face, whatever comes on their ways they can work
through it. They can rearrange the day of chaos and put it back into order because they have physical
strength.
