5. Who verifies the Business Case and at what points during a project is the Business Case verified?

Project Board verifies the business case, and the business case is verified at the end of each
management stage.

Activity 2: Outputs, Outcomes, and Benefits – Part 1

Tasks:

1. Explain the terms outputs, outcomes, and benefits and provide two examples of each.

Output: the output is a final tangible product delivered by the project. Examples include a new IT system
or a new house.

Outcomes: the outcome is a change brought by using the project’s output. Examples include Faster
reporting and doing complex calculations easily.

Benefits: the benefit is an improvement which can be measured. Examples include “reduced cost by
20%” and “Revenue will be increased by 7%”
