GUIDE FOR WORKING ON AND PRINTING EQUIPMENT SHEETS

FEW IMPORTANT POINTS TO KEEP IN MIND -

 Each level has a separate Revit file which is for editing the equipment (removal, addition,
moving, dimensioning anything)

 There is a separate container file which contains all sheets for all levels, for printing the final
sheets.

NCH-A-BDP-M3-XX-XX-Equipment Container

 The code for equipment sheets is 7000-1400, and these sheets are ALWAYS DONE FOR SUB-
ZONES (1A, 6B, 7C, ETC) and not for entire zones (1,6,7, etc).

 The room tags and c-sheet denoter boxes in the equipment are not shown in the container,
instead container file has room tags added on top additionally. Therefore, the placement of
room names and c-sheet denoters that you see in equipment file are not going to come like that
in the container, thus ROOM TAG POSITIONS AND C-SHEET DENOTER POSITIONS NEED TO BE
CHECKED IN THE CONTAINER MODEL ONLY such that they don’t cover any other
text/equipment. The most efficient way to check these is that you should look at them only
before you do the final print.

C sheet denoter boxes

 Always check equipment tags, labels, dimensions etc., such that they shouldn’t be overlapping
and should be readable. The most efficient way to check these is that you should keep checking
in the equipment model itself when working on it, at the room/area you are working on along
with all the neighbouring areas too. Room name positions need to be adjusted accordingly in
container model.

This shouldn’t happen – the tag should not be hidden by the room number

 Keep checking whether all existing equipment is tagged or not.

 Always do dimensioning using detail line.

 Make sure you check other nearby rooms when working on an area, to check for any equipment
that might have been mistakenly placed. You might see some equipment floating in
corridors/rooms in rare cases, that don’t make sense. If you come across anything like this,
please discuss it with the team once. DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING ON YOUR OWN.

 There are 2 types of equipment -

o Individual equipment, without a U in their name (STA900, etc.) which contain a single equipment

o Union equipment, which have a U in their name (U-WCH900, U-BAS300, etc) which contain many
equipment
 If asked to edit an individual/union equipment family, please first confirm with someone from
the team.

 Always check the equipment height from properties when placing a new equipment or copy
pasting an equipment.

 There might be situations where switches/sockets/other equipment would be placed under a

table/worktop which can cause it to get hidden. The best way to fix this is to reduce
transparency of the equipment on top a little bit by editing graphic overrides for element.

Items under the worktop are visible

 Do not add tags to any revision clouds unless asked to, but always add the update comment in
the properties of the cloud.

 Make sure you compile all revisions into a single revision note if there have been various
changes to the file. For eg if the updates done include – Updated as per CORXXXX, IFC Updates,
Coordination Updates, then the new revision note you will make will be - – Updated as per
CORXXXX, IFC Updates, and Coordination Updates

 Do not delete any older revisions or revision clouds in any file (unless clouds are overlapping a
lot like shown in the point below).

 If there happen to be many revision clouds at a single place overlapping each other, make a new
revision cloud with the note mentioning all the revision notes of the overlapping clouds, then
delete the overlapping ones. Only keep the new one which has all revisions written in a single
note.
For eg – These two older clouds on left will be removed and a new cloud covering the entire area will be made with a
note which mentions both the notes of the older clouds

 When printing sheets, always check container simultaneously with the equipment side by side
whether all clouds you added, and the latest required clouds are visible or not.

 It might also happen that a cloud may be half in one zone and half in the other zone. If this
happens, that cloud won’t be visible in the sheets in the container, but will be seen properly in
equipment. To solve this, make 2 clouds in the equipment – one will be in one zone and the
other will be in the other zone. Keep the revision no. and note same as the bigger cloud. Do not
delete the older bigger cloud.

If a situation happens like above where orange is the original cloud, this cloud wont be visible in any of the sheets. To
solve this, we make two magenta clouds on top of it as shown above with the same revision note and revision
sequence as of the orange one.

This is another reason why clouds need to be checked keeping container and equipment side by
side.

 While working in the Hot Block, make sure you don’t do any changes to the OCMA Areas.
 Do not change the date at the bottom right of the sheet format in the container file.

Do not change this date

 The sheet size is A0 for all these sheets.

 The equipment file takes long to open, and container takes even longer (10 mins approx),
therefore plan work accordingly.

 The more the number of sheets with different previous issue dates, the more time it will take to
do pdfs where syncing and reloading steps take the longest, therefore plan accordingly.

 Do not open more than 2 equipment files and container file at once.

 Make sure these links are visible in the container file when printing -
o Structural link (NPH-C-OCSC-M3-ZZ-00-0001)
o Internal layout

 Try not to take dimension reference from external glazing wall in a room. Dimensions should be
from partition walls as much as possible, unless specifically asked for by someone.
 Any changes in equipment model are always done in 1:50 PRINT VIEW. Different equipment files
have different views like 1-50 print view, 1/50 print view, 1:50 print view, 1 to 50 print view,
1:50 PRINT VIEW which are all correct. Do not get confused by these, just work in a view which
says 1 50 print view. If there is a “1-50 to print” view in some file, just check and confirm with
someone from the team.

 For anything else you may get confused with, just compare and check with the most recent issue
on Viewpoint and work according to that

 Make sure these are hidden

 Numbers written in red are BDP Demarcated zones and numbers in black are BAM demarcated
Zones.
 Sub zone demarcation (2A,2B,2C,2D, ETC.)-

 For printing from container, use these settings -

Printer – Bluebeam
Sheet size – ISO A0
STEPS TO PRINT EQUIPMENT SHEETS (after you have done all updates in equipment model
and clouded them) -

1. Download and check the revision number and date of the most recent issue of the sheet from
Viewpoint. If you have many sheets, a fast way to do this is to note down manually the latest
revision number and latest issue date of all sheets, and then mark all the sheets which have the
same latest issue date.

Download from 4P Check revision no. and date

Write down sheet no. and the previous issue date and previous rev no.
Color code the sheets with same previous issue dates
2. Turn off all the clouds dated before the last issue date in the equipment model (Select to “none”
instead of cloud and tag). So for example if the last issue date was 10/12/2020, all the clouds of this
date and before this date will be turned off. Only clouds dated after 10/12/2020 will stay on.

3. Sync the equipment file.

4. Reload the equipment file link in the container file. Make sure you reload the correct equipment
link.

5. Make a new revision in the container file with the appropriate revision note and todays date.
6. Make a new cloud with this new revision in the title block of the container, and make sure the
cloud you make is hidden. This will make a new revision in the title block. (do not do this by activating
viewport. Make the cloud while the viewport is deactivated)

Make the new cloud here like this

7. Check that the new revision number is next in series to the last issue as checked on viewpoint. (If
you see some extra revisions on the container, you may need to delete the hidden clouds in the
container so that we get the correct revision no. sequence)

8. If there are multiple sheets for a floor with the same previous issue date, do steps 6 to 7 again for
all these sheets in the container file.
9. If there were multiple sheets for a floor with the same previous issue date, print all these sheets
at once.

10. If there are various levels that need to be printed, you will have to do the steps above floor by
floor. One easy way is to note down all prev. revisions and dates for all levels at the first step itself,
then follow the rest of the steps floor by floor/
