Assignment and Research – Time Management Skills

1. Tell me about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities.

 It was the time I have to work at the same time study my master’s degree, I had

bunch of tasks to do as a foreign teacher in an international school. While I’m

dealing with my teaching task, I also need to balance my time to comply with the

necessary requirements to complete my courses. I’ve been doing this since I was

in college.

2. Describe a long-term project that you managed. How did you keep everything moving

along in a timely manner?

 I honestly don’t have any yet since this is only my first year of service, but if I

ever encounter this certain scenario, I will definitely plan ahead of time. Research

and ask questions that I might encounter. Provide a feasible decision and action

plans in a timely manner. I used to have notepads and memo pads with me to

remind me of my tasks, as well as reminder applications on my phone, so I was

always on track. Sometimes it’s just not possible to get everything on your to-do-

list done.

3. Tell me about a time your responsibilities got a little overwhelming. What did you do?

 Most of the time, I have these instances, and what I always do is keep myself

calm and think very quickly. Everything must have contingency plans if

something unexpected happens. With this, you know it ahead of time. You won’t

be surprised, and you can provide a solution as quickly as possible.

4. Tell me about a time you set a goal for yourself. How did you go about ensuring that you

would meet your objective?

 When I was assigned to organize and facilitate an event, I set all the things we

need each day because it’s a five-day event, so I want to make sure all the
materials and instructions are well delegated and everyone involved is well

informed. I had a checklist of all the objectives I needed to meet and, at the same

time, the details needed for a specific activity. I made sure to myself that

everything must go smoothly accordingly. From time to time, I informed other

people involved in the group so we are all on the same page and, in the event of

confusion, I can clarify and fix it right away.

5. Give me an example of a time you managed numerous responsibilities. How did you

handle that?

 It was last year before the semester exam in our school that we had to draft

study tips, question papers, and mark schemes for all the classes I was handling.

I was handling six classes for my subject. After the exams, we need to check all

of these papers, encode the result in our grading sheet, and provide individual

comments for our students. We only have very limited time, and we are rushing

because we need the result before the holiday break. I wrote down my tasks that

I need to finish per day, and I make sure that I’m following them. Good thing I

was able to accomplish it with ease and accuracy.
