4. Has technology made a positive contribution to sport today?

It is sometimes argued that technology has had an effective influence on sport

today. Personally, I cast no doubt on this view.

Let’s begin by mentioning that with the development of technology, the

performance of players has been improved. This might be explained by the fact
that athletes and trainers now have a variety of chances to monitor their body
activities and personalise training to suit their own needs thanks to up-to-date
training facilities and better gym equipment. Furthermore, healthcare products
allow trainers or competitors to be in perfect shape before taking part in a big
competition.

There are stronger reasons to argue that technology plays an integral role in
refereeing decisions. This means that it is capable of ensuring a fair game and
helping referees to make a decision correctly. For a good case in point, VAR
system provides ability to replay actions to have real evidence to decide a penalty
or any red cards to a player.

In short, I totally agree that technology has made a positive contribution to

sport today due to the use of technology of improving performance and
refereeing decisions.
