ABSTRACT

Sri Lanka was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic in the middle of


the tourist season. Visitors to Sri Lanka were increasing during
this period, while many more were making plans to visit the
country in the future. Global pandemic COVID 19 caused the
complete shutdown of the tourism industry, not just in Sri
Lanka, but around the world as a whole. Three of Sri Lanka's
major tourism markets are China, India, and the United
Kingdom, all of which are being severely impacted by the
epidemic. This analysis article's main goal is to investigate how
the COVID 19 epidemic has affected Sri Lankan workers in the
hospitality and tourist sectors.

a result, we spoke with representatives from a variety of
organizations and businesses, such as the Tourism Development
Authority, airline, hotel association, tour operator, and the Sri
Lanka Institute of National Tourist Guide Lecturers, to get their
perspectives and suggestions.
