GENERAL BIOLOGY II

Maja Akisha L. Balinton 11 – St. Thomas

“It is not the strongest of the species that survive

Nor the most intelligent but the one most responsive to change”

Introduction
In this modern generation, the definition of strong for us is always winning in battles, being
undefeated, don’t settle for the easiest solutions, or attempt to do the right thing even when it’s the
difficult choice. And having a high grade at school, lots of achievements, and academically smart is
what we called the intelligent nowadays. But we all know that everything in this world is not a
permanent and those who are responsive to change last longer.

Body
“Nothing is permanent except change”. – Heraclitus
Relationships ,circumstances, and feelings change. Nobody is ever exactly the same in each
moment. The only thing that never changes in this world is change. Life and people undergo
similar changes as the seasons. When everything is going according to plan, something beyond of
your control irritates you. You make new pals and lose some old ones. Through your trip, you
mature and pick up knowledge you never imagined you would have. You'll encounter new folks
along a journey that has curves and junctions. Yet, not every person you meet will stick by your
side the entire time. There are those you'll journey with and stay with for the rest of your life, and
then there are some you'll only meet at a crossroads. Life often makes jokes about you, and
occasionally you just feel like giving up on everything. It feels unfair because when you finally find
someone who makes you truly happy, life takes it away. It slings everything good in front of you
and then takes the rag under your feet only when things are going well. Life is like a book, There
are both good and bad chapters. But you don't stop reading the book when you reach a bad
chapter. If you do, you will never know what happens next." Most of us, especially the despondent,
close the book when we get to the bad part of the story, and that's when the cutting begins;
suicides and hopelessness. Because we believe there will be no more good chapters in the story.
We are far too quick to give up.

We all have this attitude of assuming things, especially when we have money and good
looks. That, however, is not how life works. We can't always get what we want, and we can't
always be with the person we love. Life is beautiful, but only a few people notice it. Perhaps
because of the trials and tribulations of life. You can never get away from your problems, believe
me. Cutting and drinking never help. Even if you do it a million times, it remains. It's not going
away. The only thing you can do is be brave and strong. You must arm yourself with courage in
order to fight the battle that life has thrown at you. Because if you don't, your life will never
improve. You will be unhappy. You must believe that life is fair. Fair? It is, indeed. Because it does
not treat all people equally. Everyone does not have a good job. Not everyone is wealthy. The only
thing that matters is how you will deal with it and how you will remember God. Life's problems are
not the same as the ones we solve in Math class. It's significantly more difficult and complicated.
Trials in the real world, unlike Math equations, can never be solved. It can only be reduced. When
you're at your lowest, always look on the bright side of life. Life itself is a gift. It is not something
that everyone can have. You are fortunate to witness the splendor of God's creations. You're lucky
to be alive because there are children who will never see how beautiful a flower is; they will never
know how rough a stone can be or how painful it is to have your heart broken by someone.
Remember that not everyone has it. God assigns difficult battles to his most powerful soldiers.
Conclusion
Every adversity you've faced will shape you in some way. Every person you meet will
influence you. It's up to you to figure out how. You never know when your time is up, so live the life
you want to live. Just remember that there will be obstacles to overcome, and no matter how much
you want to run away from them, you won't be able to. The only way to progress is to fight the
monster ahead of you. You could get a scar from the monster's knife and lose, or you could win
without getting a scratch from the fight and move on. But unless you try, you'll never know. Don't
give up if you lose. You've gone too far. Carry faith and courage with you at all times. When you've
had a bad day, just take a nap. And if someone tries to touch your nerve, ask yourself. Are they
worth the hassle?
