SHASHIDHAR wecun ABSTRACT Vortex bladeless turbine antiquates the conventional wind turbine and adopts a radically innovative and novel approach to captivate the moving wind energy. This device effectively captures the energy of vorticity, an aerodynamic instability condition. As the wind passes a structure, the flow steers and cyclical patterns of vortices are generated. Once the strength of wind force is suffice, the structure starts vibrating and reaches resonance. Vortex bladeless is a vortex induced vibration resonant power generator. It harnesses wind energy from a phenomenon of vorticity, called vortex shedding effect. Clearly bladeless technology consists of a cylinder fixed vertically on an elastic rod, instead of tower, nacelle and blades which are the crucial parts of a conventional wind turbine. ‘The cylinder oscillates on a specifically mentioned wind range. which then generate electricity through an alternator and a tuning system. In this paper the vortex turbine is designed with certain existing parameters of dimensions in Solidworks and the same is analyzed for different materials and dimensions of mast. which is an important part in the vortex turbine. Also various performance parameters like displacement, frequency ete. are also compared among different models NTRODUCTION The main aim of the project is to implement an Bladeless Wind Turbine to bring energy to off grid locations for low power systems working along with solar panels, Now a day’s power generation is most discussed topie for any country. Non renewable energy sources are in limited quantity and also its uses is so harmful to the atmosphere, So, fulfil the requirement of electricity, the power should be generating from the renewable energy sources. Solar, wind, tidal, hydro are renewable energy sources. In now days the use of renewable energy sources is increased because of ils benefits like unlimited quantity and pollution free. The solar, wind and hydro power generation system is mostly used for power generation, Now talk about the power generation from the bladeless wind, The innovative aspects of bladeless wind turbines and their capacity to produce electricity at low wind speeds under turbulent flow conditions in the city surroundings are the key factors that promote the deployment of this technology in built-up areas with significant potential for wind energy. Such areas in cities include rooftops of high-rise buildings.area and around muttistory buildings ,city roads/railway tracks and subway networks. Despite being in the prototype stage, the vortex bladeless has proven its value as a new wind energy technology particularly designed for on-site generation as it can be placed in an open environment or residential areas, | addition , bladeless wind turbines can work on or off grid, along with solar panels or other generators. BLOCK DIAGRAM Fig. 1: Block diagram of Bladelesss Power Generation Working methodology The energy conversion happens in the mast where the wind strikes the column mast shown in fig and makes it to vibrate .This vibration is converted into electrical energy. This phenomenon is called vortex shedding effect . Vortex shedding is an oscillating flow that takes place when a fluid such as air or water flows passed and bluffs(as opposed to stream lined body at curtained yelocities depending on shape and size of the body). When the wind impinges on the projected surface area of the mast from one specified direction , steam lines of the wind tend to depart and get sheared off . This results into formation of wind current called vortices .Once the mast vibrates . vibration passed to the spring connected to the foundation seat . The foundation seat is fixed with the piezoelectric crystals. the piezoelectric converts vibration into electrical energy . Then electrical energy is stored in a battery. Thus the stored DC current is used to charge a battery or connect it to the load. The bladeless wind mills run on the principle that when wind is allowed to strike the column mast, it tends to vibrate and this vibrational energy is further converted to mechanical (crank shaft) or electrical energy (direct connection to alternator), Advantages The vortex bladeless wind turbine as said to be 80% lighter than the conventional turbine. Manufacturing process is also relatively lowering complexity. Low maintenance cost due to less moving parts is an added. No lubricants needed, noise less more environmental friendly. It reduces foundation at the bottom by 50%. Cost of energy production is 40% less than the conventional turbines. Limitations * The efficieney of the energy observed from the wind is comparatively less than that of the conventional wind turbine. © The height of mast can be increased based on the output required * The requirement of control system for controlling the oscillation to meet natural frequency of the mast and control of frequency at higher velocity winds. Conclusion The implementation of wind generation device based on aeroelastic resonance is feasible. It has been suggested that it is desirable to collect wind energy with a device that minimizes maintenance need, especially as far as distributed generation is concerned. A slender and circular cross section wind generator whose diameter is variable according to height is proposed for achieve this mission, to maintain the resonance in a wider range of wind speeds, a strategy based on magnetic repulsion by using permanent magnets has been shown. Finally, regarding to the conversion of mechanical energy into electricity, the use of permanent magnets alternators whose stator is fixed to the ground and is mobile part is fixed to the oscillating structure part has been illustrated, No mechanical components susceptible to wear due to friction are required, When it comes to clean energy, wind power is consider one of the most reliable and sustainable alternatives. And thanks to (he combination of improved technology and diminishing prices, its adoption is increased in recent years. Innovation likes these, are what is leading to a revolution in wind power, and some very optimistic appraisals for its adoption.
