ARTICLE :

Definition of Article

Article is an article used in front of a noun. Article is basically an adjective that


functions to monify a noun.

There are two kinds of articles in English, namely article a/an (indefinite) and article the
(definite).

"the" is used for specific or special things. For example, “I just saw the best movie of the
year (I just watched the best movie this year”, meaning that there were many films that
year, but there was one film that was best watched.

"a/an" is used for things that are not specific or not special. For example, "I would like to
go see a movie", meaning that in the sentence there is no emphasis on a particular film.
There are many movies, and it can be any movie to watch.

Definite articles (the)

Definite articles can be used in a variety of sentences. Variations in the use of definite
articles are as follows:

Article the is used for the previously mentioned nouns:

Example:

He has a car. The car is quite expensive (dia memiliki sebuah mobil. Mobilnya cukup
mahal)

Article the is used to indicate place, sea, and region

Example

•The parking lot

Article the is used for words in the superlative form

Example:

•the highest

Article the is used to indicate groups of people, nations, ethnicities, tribes, and the like.

Example:

•the Indonesian

Article the is used for ordinal numbers.

Example:

•the first

Article the is used for family names, clans, clans, and the like (plural nouns).

Example:

•The Uchiha

Article the is used for the names of objects where only one is known.

Example:

Indefinite Article (a/an)

There are two kinds of indefinite articles, namely the article "a" and the article "an".

Article "a" is used for singular nouns that begin with a consonant or start with a
consonant sound. Examples include: a cat, a duck, a house, a bike, a university.

While the article "the" is used for singular nouns that begin with a vowel or begin with a
vowel sound. For example: an egg, an island, an hour, an epic moment.

There are several variations in the use of the indefinite article (a/an), which are as
follows:

The article a/an is used in front of the job name, title, position, or rank.

Example:

•a professor

The article a/an is used before the name of a tribe, ethnicity, region, or nation (singular
/ singular noun).

Example:

The article a/an is used in front of the name of a religion or belief.

Example:

•a Christian

article a/an is used for singular nouns that can be counted (countable nouns)

Example:

•They need a car

article a/an can be used to write a certain number of countable nouns or uncountable
nouns

TO BE :

To Be in English has various types such as Is, Am and Are. To Be in English is used
as a liaison between the subject and the predicate. We can see below:

Is

Is is used if the subject is the third person singular, the use of Is can only be used for
the third person singular such as He (He is male), She (He is female), and It (Noun)

Am

Am can only be used for subjects that refer to the first person singular where there is
only one, namely I (I)

Are

Are is used for two kinds of point of view, including the subject in the second person
point of view and also the plural subject. For the second person point of view, we
usually know the subject as the word You (You). As for the plural point of view, we
usually recognize the subject as the words We (We) and They (They).

Was

This is the past tense of To Be Is and Am where the explanation and usage is still the
same, for example He, She, It, and I.
Were

These are different past tense forms such as I, You, We, and They.

Use of To be between subject and noun (noun)

For the function of the verb To Be in English which is used as a conjunction between the
subject and the noun, the sentence structure is listed in the following formula:
