The gearshift consists of the following components: 5th and 6th gear gearshift arm

External shift The external shift consists of the following components:
Integrated module with internal gearshift system Relay lever
Shift cable holder (4)
The integral module with internal shift mechanism consists of the Transverse shift rod selector lever
following components: Transverse shift rod adjusting lever
Reverse gear shift fork
1st and 2nd gear shift fork The gearshift lever (1) is located in the center on the shift module (2) in
3rd and 4th gear gearshift arm the instrument panel. The selection movements for selecting the gate
3rd and 4th gear shift fork and the shifting movements for engaging the gears in the shift module
(2) are initiated via the gearshift lever (1). Each transfer operation is
performed distributed over a shift cable (3) up to the outer shift
mechanism at the transmission. The transverse shift rod selector lever
converts the transverse movement (select shift track) into linear travel
of the transverse shift rod in the integral module. The transverse shift
rod adjusting lever converts the longitudinal movement (shift gear) into
rotary movement of the transverse shift rod in the integral module. The
transmission neutral position sensor (B79/2) detects the neutral
position of the transmission. Inadvertent engagement of reverse gear
is prevented by an active reverse gear lockout. In order to reach the
reverse gear gate, the pull ring on the gearshift lever (1) must be pulled
up. The backup lamp switch (S16/2) is actuated as soon as the driver
moves the gearshift lever into the reverse gear gate.
