1st Reading Acts 1:12-14

–A proclamation from the Acts of the Apostles

After Jesus had been taken up to heaven, the Apostles

returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near

Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away. When they entered the

city they went to the upper room where they were staying, Peter

and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas,

Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Simon the

Zealot, and Judas son of James. All these devoted themselves with

one accord to prayer, together with some women, and Mary the

mother of Jesus, and his brothers.

The Word of the Lord!

Responsorial Psalm 9

R: The Almighty has done great things for me,

and holy is his Name! *

1. “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices

in God my Savior.” R.

2. “For he has looked with favor on his lowly servant. From this

day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done

great things for me and holy is his Name.” R.

3.“He has mercy on those who fear him in every generation. He

has shown the strength of his arm, he has scattered the proud in

their conceit.” R.

4. “He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, and has

lifted up the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and

the rich he has sent away empty.”

5. * “He has come to the help of his servant Israel for he has

remembered his promise of mercy, the promise he made to our

fathers, to Abraham and his children for ever.” R.

Prayer of the Faithful

P –Gathered around Mary, the Mother of Jesus, in imitation of the

first disciples, let us present our humble petitions to the Source of all
graces saying:

All –Lord, hear our prayer!

1. That the whole Catholic Church may persevere in prayer around

the successors of the apostles and in faithfulness to their
teaching, let us pray! R.
2. That the Holy Father, our Bishop, and all other religious leaders
may continue to inspire us with their appreciation of the Rosary
and the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, let us pray! R.
3. That all the devotees of the Sacred Heart may excel in the pious
recitation of the Rosary, the meditation on its mysteries, and the
living of its message, let us pray! R
4. That we may humbly obey and serve the Lord as Mary did, let
us pray! R
5. Let us pray in silence for our personal intentions. (Pause) Let us
pray! R.
P –Lord God, grant that we may always stand by Jesus in faithful
solidarity, as Mary, his Mother and our Mother, did. We ask this
through the same Christ, our Lord.

All –Amen!
