Assignment 2:

Answer the following questions: (15 pts)

a. Who owns the Internet?
- There is no centralized ownership of the Internet. It is a global, decentralized network of
interconnected computer networks and infrastructure that is managed and governed by
numerous individuals, governments, and organizations all over the world.

b. How to use public WI-FI hotspot safely?

- Although it is convenient to use public Wi-Fi hotspots, they can also pose a security risk due to
their frequent unsecured nature and easy accessibility to anyone in the vicinity.

For safe use of public Wi-Fi hotspots, follow these guidelines:

1. Using a VPN: Your internet traffic is encrypted by a VPN, making it much harder for anyone
to intercept or access your data. While connecting to public Wi-Fi, you can protect your
connection with a variety of VPN services.

2. Try to only visit websites that use HTTPS encryption when using public Wi-Fi. A padlock in
the address bar of your browser indicates this. HTTPS scrambles your

Information as it goes between your gadget and the site, making it significantly more
troublesome
For others to block or access your data.

3. Disable the automatic connection to Wi-Fi: The automatic Wi-Fi connection setting on your
device should be disabled in order to avoid connecting to bogus or potentially hazardous Wi-
Fi networks. Your device won’t be able to connect to any Wi-Fi network without your
permission because of this.

4. Two-factor confirmation adds an additional layer of safety to your internet based accounts

By requiring a code or other type of confirmation notwithstanding your secret phrase. This can
help prevent unauthorized access to your accounts even if your password is compromised.

5. Take care of your device: Make certain that both the software on your device and the most
recent security patches and updates are installed. When connected to public Wi-Fi, this can
help shield your device from security flaws that could be exploited.

If you follow these tips, you can use public Wi-Fi hotspots safely and help protect your data.

c. How to register a domain name?

- To register a domain name, follow these steps:

Choose a domain name registrar: A company that can register domain names on your behalf
is known as a domain registrar. There are numerous domain registrars to choose from, including
Google Domains, Namecheap, and GoDaddy. Choose one that you can afford and has a good
reputation.
Look for domain names that are available: Use the search tool provided by the domain
registrar to locate available domain names. To see if a name is available, enter it. You’ll need to
come up with a new name or try a different top-level domain (like.net or.org) if it’s already taken.

Choose your domain name: Whenever you’ve found an accessible space name that you like,
add
It to your truck and look at it. Please provide your contact details: Your name, address,
telephone number, and email address must be supplied to the domain registrar. Your domain
registration record is constructed using this information.

Select the length of your registration: The length of time you want to keep the domain name
registered must be determined (usually in one-year increments).

Pay the space enrollment charge: The registrar requires payment for the domain registration
fee. The cost is determined by the domain name and registrar.

Confirm ownership: The domain registrar may send you an email asking you to verify your
ownership of the domain name after the registration process is completed. Follow the
instructions in the email to finish the verification process.

After you have registered your domain name, you will need to point it to a web hosting provider
in order to make a website. You can choose a separate web hosting provider or have your
domain registrar provide web hosting services.

> Explain What version of WEB you Choice( WEB 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0) and site an
example
- From its inception in the late 1960s to the present, the video “History of the World Wide Web”
provides an in-depth look at the development of the internet and the World Wide Web. The first
web browser, the first search engine, and the emergence of social media platforms are among
the milestones covered in this section.

Web versions in various forms:

➢ Web 1.0: The first generation of the internet, characterized by unchanging web pages with
few interactive features. It was primarily a one-way communication medium because users
consumed content but did not contribute to it. A Web 1.0 site is an example of the first website
ever made.

➢ Web 1.0: The first generation of the internet, characterized by unchanging web pages with
few interactive features. It was primarily a one-way communication medium because users
consumed content but did not contribute to it. An illustration of a Web 1.0 site is Tim Berners-
Lee’s first website, which he built at CERN.
➢ Web 2.0: web pages that are more dynamic and interactive in the second generation of the
internet. Users were able to interact with one another and contribute content in a variety of ways
through Web 2.0 sites like social media platforms, wikis, blogs, and video-sharing websites. Web
2.0 sites include YouTube, Facebook, Wikipedia, and Twitter.

➢ Web 3.0: The third generation of the internet, which aims to provide a web experience that is
more intelligent and individualized. Web 3.0 sites make use of cutting-edge technologies like
artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing to learn more about
user preferences and behavior and provide content that is more relevant and personalized. An
illustration of a Web 3.0 site is the computational knowledge engine Wolfram Alpha.

➢ Web 4.0 and 5.0 are not generally utilized terms, and there is no reasonable meaning of what
They address. They are sometimes used to refer to future versions of the web that will
incorporate even more cutting-edge technologies like the Internet of Things, virtual reality, and
augmented reality.

Overall, the various web versions reflect both the development of the internet and the shifting
