Lab Assessment Assignment 2- Import users into Liferay and give access rights
Statement
Referring to Assignment-1's Project Scenario,
The scope of this assignment is to import users into "Online News Portal" and give
access to permission according to their role. You have been tasked to create three
users in this portal. They are
1. Administrator
2. Site Administrator and
3. Moderator.
Administrator: A user who has a regular role with Administrator permission.
Site Administrator: A user who has a site role with Site Administrator permission
within a specific website.
Moderator: A moderator who has a Moderator role that user has permission to
manage all the contents within a specific website.

To implement the task, complete the following steps:


1. Log in as a Portal Administrator,
Create a new role for "Moderator" and define permission to manage all the
contents of "Online News Portal".
(Other administrator roles are already defined in Liferay Portal.)
2. Create three users and assign the relevant role to all users.
3. Check different access rights between Administrator, site administrator, and
Moderator.

Provide a brief description and screenshots for each step.

Creating a new Role as Moderator in the portal
1. Open the control panel and click on the Roles button

2. Go to Site Roles and click on the icon to set a new role

3. Create a new User and assign the user the role of Moderator
4. Grant the necessary permissions to the user with this role

Only able to access some of the permissions which are assigned to the moderator, not accessible to add new
widgets and fields and also the not allowed to access the sidebar menu
5. Create a new role as a Site Administrator and another user and assign the role of site administrator to
another user

6. Login with a new user and access the site

As the user have the role of site administrator, he is not allowed to access the Control Panel, but have all
rights to access the site management page
7. When the administrator login into his account he can access all the rights in the website and in the portal
