ARD PROCESS

ARD- Admission, Review, Dismissal SADDIE BURCHELL 3 rd

A group of special people determines eligibility on a full and individual evaluation report.

They develop an individual special education plan for the student to help them be the best they can
possible be and learn to the full extent. This is other wise known as an IEP.

The parents’ role in this process is to ask questions. They know their child the best and know what
helps them learn and keep them focused. They will share what they are concerned about and mainly
speak for their child’s behalf. The parent will let them know of its child physical and social development,
along with any family history that could be important.

School administration role in this would be staying informed of the students’ needs over the process.
They also will be making sure everything is going in the right order and take the concerns of the parents
and letting them be heard. The school administration will talk with the ARD and look over documents,
progress as well as attendance.

The teacher is a firsthand person that works with the child. They know the child’s weakness and
strength and are responsible for bringing them up during the meeting. They also are used to help
determine the child’s level of success the child has in their current working environment.
