Assessments
Most students will be able to take any end of semester assessment early and complete all assessment by 21 April 2023 (some coursework may be
submitted after this date). Some institutions require students to sit assessment with City students, and assessment for these students will be between 8
May – 2 June 2023. Please check with your home institution or the City Study Abroad Office if you are unsure what assessment period you will be required
to take.

All study abroad students are able to take a language either for credit or for proficiency. Students will take a diagnostic test at the start of the semester to
be allocated the correct level.
Spanish – Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced Beginners must have some basic prior
French – Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced knowledge as they will be entering the Good
German – Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced class after 10 weeks of the academic year.

and are subject to change. If a course description is not available please contact the Study Abroad Office for the most up-to-date version.
General pre-requisites
Applicants for Level 2000 courses should have a background in the subject area, for example one or two previous successfully completed university level
courses in the subject area or with transferable skills/knowledge.
Applicants for Level 3000 courses should be a major in that subject and have extensive knowledge of the subject area.
Credit
All courses on the Study Abroad Programme are worth 15 UK credits/7.5 ECTS, and most US universities award 4 US credits. A full-load at City is 60 credits.
