God’s Not Dead; A Reflection About Religion

"God's Not Dead" is a 2014 movie adaptation of "God's Not Dead: Evidence for God" by
Rice Broock. It tells the story of a Christian college student, Josh Wheaton, who is
tested by his atheist philosophy professor, Professor Radisson, to prove the existence
of God in his philosophy class. The movie raises several questions about the presence
of God, faith, and the relationship between science and religion. In my philosophy class,
it was the first time I could identify my view of faith. I believe there is an explanation out
in the universe, but proving existence is a different topic that we may or may not prove
that God is real. This movie, "God's Not Dead," portrays Theism and Atheism. The film
was an inadequate representation of atheists, making it based on Christians. It
contained fallacies that make the so-called debate useless because of misconceptions
such as the appeal to pity. The movie depicts Christianity as the only source of truth and
atheism as a philosophy devoid of morality and values. It indicates that one must
choose between science and religion since they are in conflict. Ultimately, "God's Not
Dead" is a challenging film that poses significant queries about reason, faith, and the
compatibility of science and religion.
