1. A tower is anchored with three wires AB, AC and AD which is shown Figure -1. The
wire AB is 65 ft long, and the tension in that wire is 3900 lb .The position of the bolt B in
the negative z and positive x plane (-zx plane).
(i) (3 marks) Determine the vector ⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗ .
(ii) (1 mark) Calculate the unit vector in the direction of ⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗ .
(iii) (3 marks) Calculate , and which are the angles create by the vector ⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗
with +x, +y and +z axis respectively.
(iv) (3 marks) Determine the components of tension of the wire in the +x, +y and +z
axis respectively.

2. (10 marks) Two forces 900 N and 750 N are acting on an object at point O as shown in
Figure-2. Find the components of the resultant force Fx , Fy and Fz of the object.
