How did you find this source?

I found this source by googling about the current war issues around the world since the human
rights issue I chose was the right to live. I selected this source because it not only gives opinion
of major subjects about the issue being discussed but also provides with facts and historical
context that relate to the issue.

Why do you think it is useful for a better understanding of your human rights issue?
I think it is useful for a better understanding of the human rights issue I chose because it talks
about the current war issues around the world- Ukraine and Russia which has caused a lot of
deaths in both the countries. It has taken away the right to live from many Ukrainians and
Russians. War that occurred due to the decisions of some top minorities which ended the lives
of the majority of both countries. What else would be useful in understanding the human right to
live other than war issues?

How did you find this source?

I found this source by googling about the discrimination Asians have been facing in America
since the Covid-19 pandemic started. I chose this source because it shows a graph about the
number of different types of Asians being attacked which would be helpful in analyzing how the
right to live peacefully is taken away from all types of people just because the spread of virus
originated from one country.

Why do you think it is useful for a better understanding of your human rights issue?
I think it is useful for a better understanding of the human rights issue I chose- right to live
because it shows the different reasons people use to take one’s right to live. For example, in my
source, just because the person looks like a typical Chinese person, their right to live is taken,
even if they are not Chinese. The right to live a peaceful life is taken away from them just
because they come from the country that the virus originated from.

How did you find this source?

I found this course through FLVS. As I was thinking about my previous assignments that dealt
with the human rights issue I chose, this novel seemed to best suit in as a source. I chose this
novel because it clearly identifies the human rights issue I chose and gives examples too.

Why do you think it is useful for a better understanding of your human rights issue?
I think it is useful for a better understanding of the human rights issue I chose as the novel gives
context about the bombing in Hiroshima in Japan in 1947 that killed many people and took away
their right to live. The novel also gives information about the characters who survived the
bombing and what they were doing before the bombing and what they become after bombing.
As it shows in-depth scenarios of the characters, I could see how the bombing took away the
right to live of the character’s family who wanted to have a happy life with their loved ones.
