The scene opens with ADONIS standing in front of a

building, the flashing lights of cameras the only
illumination of his face. POLICE SIRENS are played in the
background along with the chattering of paparazzi.

NEWS REPORTER (O.S.)

Adonis, what do you have to say
about the recent threat to your
life?

Adonis snaps his eyes upward to look directly into the

camera.

FADE OUT.

The production logo, Seducere Films, plays.

2 INT. OFFICE - DAY 2

The scene is in color. Adonis walks through an office, with

only his back visible. A COLLEAGUE waves at him as they
both pass the hall.

Adonis enters his office room and sees his manager, JIM,
and his competitor, BAZIN, seated around a table. Two
filled GLASSES occupy the table.

ADONIS

What a surprise. Lovely as always

to see you, Jimmy. Carl, is it?

BAZIN

It's Bazin.

ADONIS

Right.

Adonis hunched over his worktable, palms his eyes

aggressively before running a hand through his hair. His
COMPUTER illuminates his face, and PAPERS are scattered
throughout his desk.

BAZIN (V.O)

They're promoting anyone these days

(laughs).

CUTS TO:

4 INT. OFFICE - DAY 4

The scene returns to the office, focused on Bazin. Adonis

smiles politely and looks to Jim, who returns a fake smile.

5 EXT. CITY - NIGHT 5

Adonis crosses an abandoned street.

ADONIS (V.O.)
Our biggest rival, Jim? Really?

He stands in front of a building with only his back

visible.

JIM (V.O)

We need him, Adonis. People would

kill for your position.

ADONIS (V.O.)
Do you have any idea who I am?

Adonis is at the bar, accompanied by MAGDALENA. Her glass

is full. His is empty. She is about to speak before he
stops her, raising a hand and reaching into his pocket for
his ringing phone.

ADONIS (O.S.)

Hold that thought.

Adonis walks away from her before he answers the phone.

ADONIS

Do you know what time it is right

now?

Adonis slurs his words and checks the time on his wrist,
only to be met with no watch.

ADONIS

Why are you calling?

JIM (O.S)

Sober up, Donis. Haven't you seen

the news? Someone's just threatened
your life.

CUT TO:

7 EXT. CITY - NIGHT 7

A shot of the city is played with the credits 'From the

director of La Femme Fatale' playing over them in film noir
font.

7A INT. ADONIS' OFFICE 7A

RADIO BROADCASTER (V.O.)

The following statement was sent
anonymously to a local precinct
earlier this week. The content is
not suitable for all ages.

Adonis. I will not grant you a

breath of rest, a moment's peace of
mind. You are a man of wisdom, you
know there is no such hell. There
is only me. You were not wise
enough to fear me as I should. Now
I trail the very shadow of your
steps, Adonis. I will carve you
open and expose your conceited
soul. Every man for themselves.
Good luck.

Adonis ties his shoes first. Then he adjusts his tie before
putting on his coat and his hat. The clips slowly turn
black and white and the borders close in. The screen goes
black for one second before he speaks.

ADONIS (O.S.)
I am in my own proper atmosphere.

FADE TO BLACK.

9 INT. ADONIS’ OFFICE 9

Adonis is hunched over a desk on his computer, hastily

typing away. Two extreme close-ups show his fingers roving
hastily around his keyboard and his eyes glued to the
screen.

CUT TO:

9A INT. AMIEN'S OFFICE 9A

Amien sits in a chair drinking from a glass.

ADONIS (V.O.)
Two murders, detective! Two! It's
not some coincidence they were all
partners of Bazin.

The glass Amien was drinking from lies on the floor as his
drink is spilled on the floor and his hand dangles from the
chair.

CUT TO:

9B INT. ANITY'S OFFICE 9B

Anity sits in a chair smoking a cigar.

Right? Why didn't you ever do the
autopsies? They were both assigned
to you.

Anity lays back in his chair motionless.

CUT TO:

10 INT. INTERROGATION ROOM - NIGHT 10

Adonis is in an interrogation room, accompanied by JUKE, a

detective.

JUKE
You think you can do my job better
than me? This isn't something out
of one of your movies, okay, things
can be coincidental. Everything
from your pretentious assumptions
to the way you're dressed is
ridiculous. 

Adonis scoffs before he looks at her hands, cocking his

head to the side.

ADONIS
Nice gloves.

CUT TO:

11 INT. ADONIS’ OFFICE 11

Adonis sets up an entire drawstring on his office wall. The

clip is in black and white save for the red string, which
connects various pictures and articles.

BAZIN (V.O.)
It's normal to make enemies in this
line of business, Adonis. I'm not
one of them. If I wanted you dead,
I would have already killed you.

The scene cuts to Adonis' confused face, a drink on the

counter. His HAT is on the bar counter.

ADONIS
What did you say?

Bazin looks equally as confused, sitting beside him.

BAZIN
I said if I knew who it was, I
would have told you already.

"This August" plays.

CUT TO:

12 EXT. ALLEYWAY - NIGHT 12

Adonis runs out of a dark alleyway.

BAZIN (V.O.)
Get some sleep, it's all paranoia.

12C EXT. 12C

"Never Compromise" plays.

CUT TO:

12E INT. OFFICE 12E

Bazin walks into his office with a gun held out, before
firing at the screen.

ADONIS (V.O.)
Maybe I should get a gun.

BACK TO:

12D EXT. ALLEYWAY - NIGHT 12D

Adonis has stopped running, gasping for air. He looks left

and right out of the dark alley.

The scene cuts back to Adonis and Bazin in the bar. Adonis
has his head propped on a hand, his glass empty.

BAZIN
Maybe you should.

BACK TO:

12B EXT. STREET - NIGHT 12B

Adonis looks to his right as he is met with a garbage bag

around his face.

ADONIS (V.O.)
