Whether the author's writing contained biased or one-sided statements. By expressing their own
thoughts, beliefs, and sentiments, by providing no supporting data, by engaging in subjectivity as
opposed to objectivity, and by covering only a portion of the topic at hand. The issue addressed being
very opinionated, being one-sided, and providing false information about a topic are the most common
signs of an author's writing.

the way we interpret their work?

They are able to. If the author presents the subject in a balanced manner, highlighting both the positives
and cons of the situation, they will avoid displaying any bias and present both sides of the story. Writers
can be objective by presenting both positive and negative remarks as proof, which is necessary because
otherwise, readers and listeners would certainly have assumptions based on what they hear or read.

their writing? How can we be mindful of our own biases when analyzing a text?

We might make assumptions as a result, or we might agree or disagree with the author. If the author is
biased in their writing and we share their values, we may be swayed by them and accept what they have
written. We might disagree with the topic or side the author is biased against, though, if we have a
different perspective from theirs. We should be conscious of our own personal convictions and ensure
that we pay attention to both sides of an argument rather than simply our own.
