Qu 1. What is the link between fitness and personality?

DEFINITION OF FITNESS:

Fitness is defined as 'the ability to carry out daily tasks with vigour and alertness,
without undue fatigue, and with ample energy to enjoy leisure-time pursuits and
respond to emergencies.' Based on this definition, fitness involves everything from
getting out of bed to hiking to performing CPR. In order to complete all of these tasks,
one must consistently address their fitness levels. This requires proper conditioning
through both structured exercise and leisurely activities.
COMPONENTS OF FITNESS:

Depending on the source, the components of fitness vary considerably. Below are
common components:

1. Cardiorespiratory endurance - typically measured by how long or fast a person

can perform an activity and how this impacts measurements such as heart rate
and oxygen consumption.
2. Muscular endurance - typically measured by how many repetitions of an exercise
a person can perform. Common tests involve push-ups and sit ups.
3. Muscular strength - typically measured by how much weight can be moved in
relation to repetitions. Exercises involving multiple joints and muscle groups
such as squats or bench press are often used.
4. Muscular power - typically measured by how much force can be generated
during a given activity. Advanced equipment used by biomechanisms are often
needed to measure muscular power.
5. Flexibility - typically measured by how far a muscle group can be stretched or
joint can be moved. The most common tests involve the hamstrings and
shoulders.
6. Balance - typically measured by how long a particular position can be held with
or without some type of activity being performed. Simple tests such as standing
on one leg can be used to assess balance. More advanced tests may involve
standing on an unsteady object while trying to catch a ball.
7. Speed - typically measured by how quickly an individual can move from one
point to another. The 40-yard dash is often used to assess speed.
8. Body composition - this is the amount of fat on the body versus other tissues
such as muscle, bones and skin. Measured using a variety of tests and devices.
Simple tests using mathematical equations or callipers are common and
inexpensive. More advanced tests such as underwater weighing are far less
common and much more expensive.
In many cases, endurance and strength are the components used to assess fitness. But
utilizing the other components offer a more complete picture of overall fitness, along
with health and athleticism.

Example:

If a student wants to focus on creating a program to improve cardiorespiratory

endurance, they would start by researching this type of fitness. They might find that a
person could use cardiovascular exercises, like running, biking, or swimming in
combination on different days of the week to achieve this goal. They might create a
training program that looks like this:

Day 1: Walk/run 1 mile

Day 2: Bike for 30 minutes

Day 3: Rest

Day 4: Swim 500m

Day 5: Rest

Day 6: Walk/run 1 mile

Day 7: Rest

DEFINITION OF PERSONALITY:

Personality can be defined as those inner psychological characteristics that both

determine and reflect how a person thinks and acts in an environment. The inner
characteristics of personality are specific qualities, attributes, traits, factors and
mannerism that distinguish one individual from other individuals.
PERSONALITY CHARACTERISTICS:

What exactly makes up a personality? Traits and patterns of thought and emotion play
important roles, and so do these fundamental characteristics of personality:

1. Consistency: There is generally a recognizable order and regularity to

behaviours. Essentially, people act in the same way or in similar ways in a variety
of situations.
2. Both psychological and physiological: Personality is a psychological construct, but
research suggests that it is also influenced by biological processes and needs.
3. Affects behaviours and actions: Personality not only influences how we move
and respond in our environment, but it also causes us to act in certain ways.
4. Multiple expressions: Personality is displayed in more than just behaviour. It can
also be seen in our thoughts, feelings, close relationships, and other social
interactions.
Qu 2. In what ways you use your voice effectively?
The way you use your voice is one of the absolute most important aspects of speaking
in public. This can easily change the way your audience sees you, whether for the better
or for the worse. Even just the slightest change in your voice can change the entire
meaning of a sentence. And you may not be a master at the skills required to make
effective use of your voice.
WAYS TO USE VOICE EFFECTIVELY:

1. Maintaining the proper volume is crucial. But how do you know exactly what
volume is right? The answer to that question: you want to be loud enough for
everyone to hear you, but not too loud that you make your audience
uncomfortable. First, notice what the size of your crowd is. If you have a
larger audience spread out over a wider area, you might need to talk a little
louder. However, if you have a microphone, you will have a much easier time
regulating your volume. This can help you from not straining your voice in order
to be heard. It is also okay to raise and soften your voice at different points
throughout your presentation to draw attention to certain words or phrases.

2. Intonation means how you say something. And how you say something is just as
important as what you are saying. Proper intonation is important to convey
emotion. Your voice should fluctuate naturally because speaking in a monotone
variation will do nothing but bore your audience.

3. Emphasizing on a word: What words, phrases, or sentences are the most

important during your speech? You should use your voice to emphasize these so
that they stand out.

4. Don’t Forget About the Pace: It is incredibly important to remember not to speak
too fast or too slow. If you are going too fast, very few people will be able to keep
up, and your audience may miss out on vital details about your message. And
when you are going to slow? Well, you may risk boring your audience. I realize
that it is easy to start speaking fast when you are very knowledgeable or excited
about a particular topic. But if you want to properly share the facts about this
topic with your audience, you have to learn to slow down!

5. Avoid Excessive Screaming Or Yelling: Both of these can cause serious harm to
the voice. If you regularly spend days cheering loudly at the local baseball game,
or nights screaming at a concert, you may want to think about changing some of
your lifestyle habits. After all, remember that your voice is irreplaceable.
6. Avoid Whispering Or Clearing Your Throat: You should also avoid whispering or
clearing your throat as much as possible since both of these can actually be
significantly harmful to your vocal cords.

7. Avoid Smoking: Avoid smoking as much as possible. If you are a smoker who
can’t quit, at least try not to smoke right before or after a presentation. When
you take care of your voice, it will thank you by performing well when you need it
to. And as always, being mindful of your health in any way is a rewarding
endeavour!

8. Don’t Drink Coffee or Sweet Drinks Before Your Speech: Limit caffeine and sweet
drinks before your speech. Why? Because they make your mouth dry and it’s
hard to speak if your mouth is dry, isn’t it? Also, Caffeine is a stimulant that may
keep you awake, but it also noticeably increases anxiety levels.

To ensure that you get your points across, you must speak loudly and clearly enough
that your listeners hear and understand what you are saying. Even a person in the
furthest corner of a room should be able to comprehend your words without straining.
Projecting your voice also helps your personality show.

A strong voice conveys confidence. Speaking too softly, mumbling, or trailing off at the
ends of sentences can suggest uncertainty or timidity and will undercut the strength of
a presentation. If you’re not sure a word or phrase is worth saying, don’t say it. If it is
worth saying, say it like you mean it.

The easier you make it for your listeners to receive your message, the greater your
impact will be
